Gilbert gone

From the NY Times:

Mayor Bill de Blasio, still struggling to manage near-record levels of homelessness, announced on Tuesday that his homeless-services chief was stepping down in another shake-up of the administration’s antipoverty efforts.

The departure of the commissioner, Gilbert Taylor, is the latest fallout from the homelessness crisis, which has become a consuming political problem for Mr. de Blasio as he tries to address deepening inequality in New York City.

Since Mr. de Blasio took office, the number of people in shelters overseen by the Department of Homeless Services has jumped to more than 57,000 from about 53,000, peaking at 59,068.

I thought I read somewhere that he was leaving for medical reasons.

He left because he embarrassed himself on the news, especially how he graded himself on his performance.

But he still has an adviser position in city hall. I speculate in the 10 year affordable for some housing scheme.

Watch, Taylor will go on to head some nonprofit organization that will collect millions in City contracts.

"I thought I read somewhere that he was leaving for medical reasons."...Yeah, he is sick of being told he is useless.

This is dumb, why is anyone surprised homelessness increased during his watch? He's a bureaucrat and being the head of a bureaucracy it was his first job to ensure he HAD a job. Burgeoning homelessness ensured he kept his job. The last thing maggots like him want is to eliminate the need for his job.

So glad he left. Time to go after all of Mayor DiBlasio's cronies.

Sadly , homelessness is forecast to rise in NYC

As long as the Right to Shelter exists in NY more homeless shelters just leads to more homeless. How about the DHS puts an emphasis on training and jobs.

LGA airport and Main St Flushing #7 are just unbelievable sights, some of these people are very large black males screaming into thin air at nothing. Somebody's gonna get killed or shoved under a train.
This sick mayor waving the "come and get it flag" at the world belongs in jail for mass negligence. Right to Shelter and Right to Squat NEED TO GO IN THIS STATE.

Think about the jobs homeless create Bingo DiBlasio

Gilbert Taylor is staying on at City Hall in an advisory capacity. Translation: He is making DeBlasio look bad, but he's black so firing him would make DeBlasio look worse. That's what Chirlaine says.

Did anyone think for one minute that Gilbert Taylor gave a crap about the homeless Sons of Obama roaming the streets? What he cares about is his paycheck. Just like so the HRA and DHS employees.
