Trinity-St. Andrew's Church in Maspeth has a for sale sign on its property. I believe it's just for the parish house, but would anyone be surprised if the whole shebang was developed?
Any underutilizes space can be built on. Infill development takes on a whole new meaning. Maybe there's not enough money in the Sunday collection boxes.
The Catholic church, the pope and George W Bush were hoping all these illegal Hispanic immigrants were going ti reseed the flock. Haa--I guess things aren't working out. These people only TAKE and have alters, statues to prey at home. This space will become an ugly tax exempt apt monstrosity like St.Leonards on Melrose street.
I wouldn't say "ignorant" all the posts make valid points. Bad taste perhaps but thats New Yorkers for you. Who cares what denomination of Christin church it is. These clergy and bible packing politicians like the Bush mob all go by the bible quote "welcome the stranger" The very same bullshit that has become our American nightmare
Sad wish instead of selling these churches can offer senior services and child daycare and services as well. Of course some sort of fee or tuition paid.
Likely a mainline protestant denomination-- Lutheran, Methodist, or Episcopalian-- with 20 members (at most) in the pews each week. Sad but true. Get used to it because more like these are coming fast. The real miracle is that they lasted as long as they have.
Italicized passages and many of the photos come from other websites. The links to these websites are provided within the posts.
Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. They are not connected to this website and the opinions presented here do not necessarily represent the positions of these organizations.

This isn't a Catholic church.
Crapster,
Don't you just love the ignorance of some contributors?

You and the rest of the Obama mob have owned it since 2009. So find something else to blame.
