Elmhurst Starbucks manager has a bad attitude
"On 5/12/2015, 86-51 Broadway, Starbucks store in Elmhurst, manager Melissa seems to have the anger management issues.
She took my order of one Frappuccino and one special straw. I didn't hear her coworker asking my name to put it on cup at first because I was opening my reward app on my phone to pay, then Melissa started to shout at me saying hey helloooo with a very bad attitude. The only thing I said to her is "sorry I didn't hear you but you don't have to yell." And till now, I haven't figured out which word aggravated her. Then she took the scanner away as I was trying to pay then told me to leave and never go back. I was trying to ask other employees who I can speak to. She thought I am leaving with the straw on my hand (I picked it up before everything happened), she said I am stealing the straw.
Really?! Accuse me of stealing! And you say call the police to get me out of the store?! I felt so bad for what happened, especially since there was nobody I could report her to because she is the manager. I am glad that other customers in the store saw how I was treated and told her "you need get fired". Then she switched the target and started to argue with them. I thank this customer who took this video and sent it to me.
I have filed a compliant with customer service. I hope the district manager will take this seriously. This is such a terrible experience."

Can someone send that video to Starbuck's corporate office and get that ghetto hoe manager fired? And while they're at it, whoever hired that little cunt should also be fired. I would expect better manners and service in Bangladesh.
good I hope she gets fired. that place is mismanaged big time. cant tell you how many times ive gone there in the morning between 6:30 and 7 and they haven't opened yet.
Post this on Starbucks twitter and facebook page (as well as Youtube) and watch how fast that manager is disciplined and you are comped.

This manager likely has a college degree in psychology and is angry she has to serve the great unwashed.
I don't like Starbucks coffee, but I would go there to see the floorshow!
As an aside, the customer looked very attractive and has likely not been spoken to like that ever.
She looks and sounds like a ghetto Puerto Rican from the Bronx! She would not have acted like that with another ghetto Puerto Rican or ghetto Black woman because this short ghetto manager would have had herself pulled from the hair up over the counter, stomped on, and the straw stuffed inside her mouth.
Hope Ruby Chen doesn't think all Latinos from the Bronx, like myself, are like that! So sorry you had to deal with that.
I'm sure the manager has her side of the story but at this point it doesn't matter. She should be fired immediately. No one on the service industry should ever yell at a customer like that or have such a condescending attitude toward a customer. Sadly, in 21 Century Queens, that kind of service is all too commonplace.

This ghetto hood rat needs to be fired. Civility is the glue that holds society together. She is unfit to interact with other people let alone be a manager.
Working with the public is tough.
It's like something George Carlin once said, (paraphrase) Look at how dumb the average person is, then remember that half the people are dumber than that!
Slowing the line down is a PITA, but there is no excuse for someone, least of all the manager, to react like this.

Niece of Rosie Perez? If she hates her job, leave it--the homeless shelter is only blocks away....Most customers at this store are professionals. I personally despise Starbucks coffee and its whole "culture" Overpriced!

Our charming employee has that odd ghetto way of adding extra physical intimidation to an already intimidating rant - gesturing with her hands as if she's trying to make up her mind to slap or punch the customer.
I cannot imagine a "her side of the story" story that could save her job, can you?

A long time ago, I tried their coffee. I found it too bitter, and overpriced. Never went back again.
Apparently Melissa the Manager greeted Asian customers with "Ching Chong, what's your order?"
Insanity.
But being as this is America, I am fairly certain she will have her own reality show within days.
Starbucks is for hipsters who love to pay overpriced and snobby products, make them feel special.
The ranting biatch should be fired, back to the ghetto and never be allowed to come to the nicer parts of Queens (including her entire family), we don't like their kind here.
I am still wondering what happened to the rest of the video. There is always three sides to a story, ruby chen side, the managers side and the truth. This video does not show what happened prior to the yelling. I use to be a cashier for 8 years and I can definitely tell you that the customer is not always right. A lot of customers came into me with an attitude, some were just psychopaths. I've been everything from robbed to cursed at to threatened. I am glad to say that I no longer work in customer service related jobs anymore. Eight years was bad enough to deal with the public!

So let me get this straight.... You were playing with your cell phone when asked for your name thus holding up customers behind you during a busy time. Then the manager lost it and started screaming at you. She had no right to go off like that. She deserved to be fired. At the same time you're like that old lady at the supermarket who waits till the sale is all rung up to then starts writing out the check.

It doesn't make any difference AT ALL what the customer said prior to this. This employee was WAAAAAYYY out of line. Had this been my business, she would have been fired immediately. Obviously there is something wrong with her.
