Pan Am Hotel reopens as a hostel
A fan on Facebook recently brought to my attention that the Pan Am Hotel on Queens Blvd in Elmhurst has a new website, and is apparently being run as both a hotel and hostel. People on a budget will be able to afford to visit New York and the property has found a similar use to its previous incarnation. Sounds like a win-win, especially considering that the entire block was up for sale and at one point there were fears of a humongous crap pile being constructed in its place.

What a cheap and sloppy looking website!
I bet the FDNY. would be interested in checking the specs of some of the dorm room set ups.
Don't count your chickens - all sorts of SRO types will be dumped here by the city as they did with Westway.
In 2 or 3 years a development plan for the site will be in place.
Hopefully they can successfully reuse the Pan Am Hotel building.
Looks like a classey web site to me - some people can only make negative remarks - how sad.
The website is clearly written by someone who's first language isn't English.
Just thoughly proofread the site and it was fine - did I miss a typo or maybe you cannot spell or speak proper English.
Perhaps you want to see their birth certificate to see if they were born Kenya?
Oops - born in Kenya.
Yes, English IS my first and only language and I am only second generation, not a Daughter of The American Revolution.
The grammar displayed throughout the website is horrendous!

You don't read very well, do you? The spelling may be decent, but the grammar and syntax are horrendous.
Don' you think you have you have more important matters to worry about in this world? Or do you think the Web site is the President's or Mayor's fault?
Very Happy. Elmhurst would loose a lot. This hotel brings life to the neighboorhod.
It's a terrible website.
The Home page is way too text-heavy, the font is too small and the lines too closely spaced.
The Location page does not show the hotel's location on the Google map displayed.
The entire site is very poorly written.
This is not proper English -
The Pan American Hotel most famous hotel in New York
Also - borough is misspelled in this sentence:
As one of New York's five main Burroughs, Queens gives...
It is unfortunate that certain QC readers are unable to detect poor spelling and grammar mistakes. I hold them to a higher standard than the hoi polloi of Queens.
