Rape at Flushing massage parlor

From the Daily News:

Cops are investigating a rape at a Queens massage parlor Saturday.

Sources said the victim was attacked inside the Union St. shop near Northern Blvd. in Flushing at about 5:30 p.m.

Paramedics rushed the woman to Queens General Hospital in stable condition, officials said. Her attacker remained at large Saturday night.

Police sources said they don't know exactly what transpired at the massage parlor, noting there's a "language barrier" between investigators and the Asian victim.

Cops were seen entering and leaving the second-floor business - its windows covered by a neon "Open" sign and pictures of men and women getting massages - for most of the night.

The attack occurred at a time when communities are complaining about the proliferation of massage parlors and spas that stay open late and where workers provide more than just rubdowns.

Yeah, by the way, there's a website where you can find out what's "on the menu" at each massage parlor. Nice, eh?

Wait? How do you know there's a website where you can find out what's on the menu?

Have you had "dinner" at one of these places before?

Northern and Union? Isn't that right down the block from the Assholes in the 109th. Way to go, either turning a blind eye to illegal activities and not doing your jobs or just being too stupid to notice.

Too bad it wasn't Nussbaum or Schenckler that got porked for running their Queens Trib's whore ads!

Actually several years back, 2 officers of the 109th PCT were involved with a local whore house. That story made the newspapers.

They warned their Asian madam employer of pending raids and muscled her competition.

In exchange for their protection racket, they received money and favors.

These kinds of places don't operate without police protection...so if you want to report the existence of a prostitution establishment...don't call the local precinct.

Try Queens vice...whatever...otherwise nothing will be done and you might wind up being harassed by crooked cops.

Right across the street. But, let's be realistic, these cops all come from "out of town" in addition to a language barrier (no Korean cops?) these shops are packed together and probably look like a foreign country to "the boys from Suffolk'.

That was no "happy ending"!

I wonder if she advertised in the 'Entertainment' section of Ackerman's Family Newspaper?

Again lack of law enforcement in Queens that makes it the wild, wild, west where anything goes. Queens has become a travesty.

Look at this picture. Is this America or a squalid third world country?

Its neither.

Its Flushing. A place that used to be beautiful and for a few votes (probably bought) is would have stayed Nassau North Shore.

Its what happens when the Democratic Machine can tweed to its heart's content.

Go ahead. Put them back in office. Joe's kids are in Virginia. Where are yours?

Reminds me of Olongapo, Phillipines circa 1979.

If you pan the image from Google earth, you'll see that it is right across the street from Flushing High School. In some communities, there is an uproar if anything "adult," even a liquor store, opens up close to a school - let alone a massage parlor. But not in this vibrant neighborhood. Maybe there's an after-school special?

All of downtown Flushing is gross, but this section is the worst. There is hardly any foot traffic in this area, but hundreds of Chinese shanty stores every square inch — no surprise that hooker massage parlors are fronting.

How else could all these stores survive?

The whole area needs a bulldozer.

Funny how none of the comments seem to show any empathy or concern for the woman who was allegedly raped.

Most "body work" places are not "houses of ill repute". Some of the places in Flushing have even been reviewed well in YELP by female and male reviewers (see coco spa for example of a seemingly "iffy" place from the outside that has been reviewed well by couples and women alike).

Either way, no one, deserves to be raped.

And then what? More high-rise crap and congestion? Clean up what's already there!

Anonymous said...

There is no cleaning up what is already there. A high rise with an underground parking lot would be a lot better.

As for Yelp reviews, the dirtiest places in Flushing have 4 or 5 star reviews. Yelp is the way the Chinese and Koreans try to counteract the image that downtown Flushing is a cesspool. It makes them feel better.

The women working in these massage parlors/brothels are victims every day - they're probably sex slaves.

Our police are either too stupid and/or too corrupt to improve anything in Flushing. They're all dirty.

Anonymous said...

We have great sympathy for sex slaves being abused...
but we're skipping past empathy for the victim...because the surrounding community has also been raped by rapacious developers and their political supporters.

i.e.
How many people have Gene Kelty and Chuck Apelian indirectly raped for letting over-developers get away with murder?

Excuse me please...
but weren't the Asians supposed to save us from becoming a "crime ridden" south Jamaica or south Bronx type of nabe?

The plot hatched by politicos and local realtors (in the mid 1970s) was to steer the Taiwanese-Chinese into Flushing in order to drive out the darker people of color and inflate real estate values.

In retrospect, It seems that this "cure" was worse than the "disease"!

With an inadequate infrastructure? You're daft!

It sure would be! There are too many empty seats on the #7 subway as it is. This is a great way to close the transit authority's budget problems.

As far as the underground parking, GREAT IDEA. Just because the property is a former gas station shouldn't taint anyone's opinion on environmental consequences. Let the buyer beware, right? Why stop progress? Keep those educated opinions coming. Where would we be without them???

Anonymous said...

Oh Lord Flushing is beyond worrying about environmental consequences! The place is a toxic fishy soup already. No one gives a crap.

I got news for Mr. Concerned about Downtown Flushing and development -- it's going to continue anyway. Chinese will keep pouring in -- especially if this immigration bill passes -- because the first generations have no desire to assimilate.

Let them build right there in that industrial cesspool by Flushing High School and clean up the area. They can put the parking lot on the roof or interior and the Chinese can expand their illegal transport van service empire.

Speaking of that, anyone else notice the livery Mercedes buses that have popped up parked all over Flushing for days on residential streets? I have to send pictures.

I feel like I am in the 1800's china when I am in Flushing... And these are the people we are outsourcing to? Yeah ok...

Not at all but you obviously are obsessed with creating more problems than currently exist. Brain dead? Perhaps. Brainless. YES!!!

You have all got it wrong....Flushing is VIBRANT and DIVERSE! That was our politician's goal for downtown Flushing.

Now these Asians want to move into bayside here and I have to tell you, bayside hasn't looked any crappier than what it does these days! These asians don't even own the properties over here, they just rent from their "churches"! I hate my area anymore and I've lived here for 30 years! On top of that, I can't even speak to the people because most of them don't speak english! Way to go nyc government! You really are making queens more crappier by letting these illegals stay!!

Anonymous said...

Flushing is not diverse!! All I see is a flood of rude Asians who don't even speak English!! I remember flushing was nicer when I was younger and the alexanders use to be where the Macy's is now! Those were the times when signs were actually written in English!! Those were the days!
