Murray Hill home invasion

From the Times Ledger:

Police responded to a call early Friday morning of an armed robbery in a Murray Hill home. Police said three victims were in the basement apartment of a house on 164th Street just before 2 a.m. when a suspect entered the home brandishing a gun.

Two individuals fled the scene, and three were detained in connection with the incident, according to police. As of press time, two people were in custody, the police said.

The three victims were taken to Booth Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Imagine something sinister happening in a basement apartment. From the looks of it, more like a cellar apartment...

Five bandits sent three people to the hospital after trying to knock off an after-hours gambling joint in Auburndale, cops said.

The armed thugs entered a home on 164th Street and 35th Avenue where about 20 people were playing cards around 1:40 a.m. Friday and demanded cash.

The goons stabbed one man in the side, pistol-whipped two others and tied up the rest.

One of the players took a gamble of his own and called cops, who collared three of the thugs, while two escaped. Police said it was not clear whether the two escaped with any cash.

The assault victims were taken to Booth Memorial Hospital in stable condition, cops said.

That's what it says in the post. It was a gambling spot. I doubt people are going to run up into a home with guns and knives just for a burglary. They knew something was going on in there.

An Asian gambling den, perhaps?

These home invasions don't usually occur impromptu.

The bandits know the score is worth taking well in advance.

Very fishy!

I think the "Murray Hill" section of Flushing is located well below 164th street.

This sounds more like "Broadway".

Weekly news rag reporters never get shit straight.

I live in Broadway.

This looks more like it's near Kissena Park.
