Well isn't that special?

From the NY Post:

Rep. Joe Crowley, a Queens Democrat under investigation for raising campaign cash from Wall Street within a day of last year's vote on financial reform, has been tapped as a finance chairman of his party's Congressional Campaign Committee.

A big part of Crowley's job will be more fund-raising -- even as a House Ethics probe continues into his earlier efforts he calls perfectly legit.

This article from the NY Times explains how Crowley got to Washington in the first place.

From that NY Times piece:

"The local Republican Party, which had a nonaggression pact with Mr. Manton, refrained from nominating a serious candidate even though the district might easily be competitive."

Discuss.

Nothing changes in Queens, does it. Our district suffers because of back-room politics that do us much more harm than good. term limits on this office could help rid us of these POLS.

This Crowley clown represents all that is corrupt in Queens. When will voters wake up and see that this guy is nothing more than a no talent slob?

What did the Republican Party get out of this "nonaggression" pact?

I don't know - certainly not judgeships or any other kind of patronage. Maybe there was no non-agression pact because the Republicnas can't win local or county seats? And how in heaven's name could Manton's district ever be considered competitive?

Congressman Manton helped constituents, was a true civil servant. He gave the congressman seat to Crowley, a major mistake.

Crowley's office only helps illegal immigrants. If you are an American voter and citizen they will not do anything for you. The majority of staff in both Queens and Bronx offices are recent either legal or illegal immigrants. This is what should be investigated. Their office in Queens is abusive towards voting constituents yet they fall over themselves to aid illegal immigrants.

I have not and will never vote for Joe Crowley. Let's hear about the town hall meetings when Crowley was booed. He is no civil servant.

1. The Republican party is dead in Queens from the East Rive to the Flushing River. It's not worth even offering a conciliatory gesture to them.

2. Manton hand-picked Crowley. Crowley was crowned, not voted into office. But he will never face a serious challenge as long as he is healthy and stays out of jail.

3. Crowley does one-way phone calls, not town halls.
