Willets Point responds to Bloomberg

WPIRA RESPONDS TO MAYOR BLOOMBERG'S STATEMENT ON QUEENS BOROUGH PRESIDENT HELEN MARSHALL'S APPROVAL OF WILLETS POINT REDEVELOPMENT PLAN

"Mayor Bloomberg is kidding himself if he thinks this reckless land grab is going anywhere other than the same place as his plans for a West Side stadium and the Olympics -- the scrap heap of bad ideas. The Mayor has refused to answer any real questions about this boondoggle, but let him start with just one: How much will the City rely on eminent domain to take our private property? As property owners in Willets Point, we know the Mayor's true plan is to try to force us off our land. But he is too much the politician to admit it. Helen Marshall's betrayal of the people of Queens will not be forgotten, nor will we forget any who join with her to steal our land rather than provide us with the infrastructure improvements we all need. This fight will never end until the City renounces its plans to steal our private property and finally makes the sensible investments to improve Willets Point for the thousands of men and women who work here every day."

Jerry Antonacci, Willets Point Industry & Realty Association Member
President, Crown Container

Hey Jerry - your containers are placed on city streets? Plaster them with protest signs. Let the public know what is really going on.

Have another idea...since you don't have sanitary sewers there, why not have each business name their cesspool after one of the elected officials that's doing this to you? Send out a press release each week and have a ceremony. "The Claire Shulman Shithole" - has a ring to it!

Shorten it to
"Shulman's Shithole", which has a far better ring!

Next, try:

"Marshal's Manure Mound"!

I am starting to get a feeling that they city may be the one that loses this battle.
Good luck Jerry.

A suggestion Jerry:

Stencil paint a "Dump Marshal" sign on every Crown Waste dumpster!

You need Jerry Rotondi to make one of his famous drawings. The Huang outhouse one was classic.

Keep up the fight. Fight the Commissar in Court, in public events, and in organizing your fellow taxpayers, property owners, businesses, and customers.

Publicly invite these turds to come to Willets Point in person and make their plans known publicly on the land they've deliberately neglected and now plan to steal for their cronies.

Require them to stand in the puddles and answer questions and explain themselves.

They refuse to accept the invitation? Invite the TV and print media to attend an "Empty Chair" press conference. Or, have stand-ins, take the place of the thieves. Do not accept their representatives. Either they arrive in person to speak and answer questions, or you supply the substitutes.

Let's not forget the importance for victory on both sides. The city is not going to fight this one lightly. They want to develop that entire area, and they are going to throw everything they have aat us. If Willets Point development fails, it could very well become the turning point in this overdevelopment madness in Queens. No Willets Point development might have a negative effect on the sales/rentals at that Parc View complex or whatever it is being called on College Point and Roosevelt. Poor sales there could prevent other building projects in the area. Good news for us, but disaster for the city and their building buddies. So let's brace ourselves for a bloody and hard-fought battle.

Has anyone heard this before?

http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Find-Freedom.htm?At=036247&From=News

It is pretty upsetting and indicates a disturbing trend that property owners can lose the rights to their lands legally to greedy and wealthy developers. This insanity has to STOP!

Helen Marshall said on the radio..."We have offered these people top dollars for their land". She is an outright liar! No one has offered those people ANYTHING. My cousin is an owner and hasnt heard price 1 from them. Claire Schulman and her appointed court jester Helen Marshall are trying to be thieves, but are definitely LIARS. Helen should be impeached and Claire should be arrested. She caused this brouhaha to begin with.
Someone once said..."We get the government we deserve:..Not in the case of Queens County. We got the govt they FORCED us to have..Maybe Claire is related to Vladimir Putin.

THANK YOU-TAXPAYER. YOUR IDEA OF FORCING THEM TO FACE THE PRESS IS A GREAT ONE. WE WILL TRY THAT. BUT THEY WILL BS THE PRESS AND THE COMMUNITY BOARD AND WILL NEVER SHOW UP.

People much smarter than I am can figure a way to stage an embarrassing event for the media.

Even If the thieves do show up and start the BS, have folks with bullhorns drown out the BS.

When the thieves stalk out in disgust, substitute the alternate mayor and Beep, and CMs to talk to the media.

Mock and highlight the lying theft. Aim to have viewers laugh at the pols, and, at the same time get to comprehend their plans for land theft. It won't be easy.
