Pete makes animal lovers batty

Although the Joker is truly frightening and a total psychopath terrorist in the new Dark Knight movie, the real life villain of Gotham is Peter Vallone Jr., the anti-constitutional legislation penning NYC councilman. He's become a menace to all freedom loving New Yorkers: artists, dog lovers, and whoever else he decides to target next. So we decided to highlight his villainy with a giveaway.

Peter Vallone Jr. Is the Joker Giveaway

Putting graffiti on private or commercial property without permission is a crime.

It's vandalism. It isn't art.

Being against the crime of vandalism is absolutely NOT anti-Constitutional, but, it is a proud, all-American duty.

If that's the charge against Vallone, then he's my hero!

I was going to post this in Gothamist, which linked to the Animal NY entry, but since I didn't want to waste time in an argument with their regular commenters babyhitler, jacquesmehoff and jenchungsbra, here goes:

Peter Vallone's sins, apparently according to AnimalNY, are opposing the culture of graffiti that sees every nonprotected surface in NYC the target of uglifiers. Graffitists are getting violent in Los Angeles:

If Vallone makes anti-graffiti a platform of any mayoral campaign he wants to run, let him. Vallone also favors banning pit bulls, earning Animal's ire. I wouldn't go that far; a dog takes on the personality of its owner, and if pit bulls are vicious, their owners likely are.

Of course fighting graffiti is a good thing, but Vallone is nuts for going after companies that use graffiti as a design for drink containers and art spaces in Brooklyn that allow people to express themselves creatively on private property. He's also for banning pit bulls which is the dumbest thing I ever heard. Pit bulls are trained to be violent; usually abused to make them attack. They don't "have it in them." There are so many mutts in the city that it would be impossible to eliminate every pit bull anyway.

WE NEED MORE COPS. WHEN WE HAD A LOT OF PATROLS, GRAFFITI WAS NOT A PROBLEM. WE'RE HEADING BACK TO THE 1970S.

Vallone is running for borough president, not mayor. Let him have the do-nothing position. he's not qualified for mayor.

Hey how about Paul Vallone as Lex Luthor? He certainly fits the role.

There is no reason anyone has to have a pit bull as a pet. Pit bulls, while they can be fine in most cases, are dangerous if they snap, unlike other breeds. Just get another dog, you don't need a pit bull in order to feel manly.

There's a pit bull right down my block. He's really sweet. Owner treats him like his baby.
But there's always this thing that you just can't trust these dogs especially after you hear someone's been killed or malled on the news.

Look, all he does is get headlines that he is doing something, but we all see grafitti increase stil the same.

Since he is a pawn of the real estate industry, he will never take the steps needed to shut it down.

Like going after the property owner, particularly the speculative absentee landlord.

You do not see much grafitti on owner occupied buildings.

You think Councilman Jr Vallone is against development in queens?

Vallone, the Junior schmuck, defended councilperv Dennis Gallagher and insulted his victim.

Anyone who goes after Junior is fine with me.
