Grand jury lets stabber off the hook

A grand jury has refused to indict a man who was chased by a mob and fatally stabbed a 15-year-old girl in the ensuing melee, but he still is being held by immigration authorities, his lawyer said Thursday.

Man Won't Be Charged in Queens Girl's Death

Winston Alladin, 39, insulted a mother for cutting in line in front of him at a bus stop and then was chased by several angry passengers and a neighborhood mob, police said at the time of the June incident.

Alladin told grand jurors that he did not mean to hurt anyone and only pulled a knife to scare off 10 or more teenage attackers who followed him off the bus and beat him, said lawyer Kevin O'Donnell. Alladin stabbed Keyanna Jones in the chest when she went at him, O'Donnell said.

The people in the mob threw rocks at him, rammed him with shopping carts and took turns punching him, and two of the teenagers spoke of having a gun and a knife, O'Donnell said.

``This was truly a case of self-defense,'' the lawyer said. ``He was in legitimate fear of his life.''

It was unclear whether immigration authorities would seek to deport Alladin, who remained in detention as of Thursday, but after the trauma of recent weeks, he wants to return home to Trinidad, O'Donnell said.

Thank God everyone involved was the same color or it would be a long, hot summer with a lot of Al Sharpton on TV.

The last paragraph is an ignorant assumption that all people of a particular ethnic group think alike.

If your theory were correct, then BELFAST would have never happened.

It's too bad that statement didn't make it under your PC detector, but I think it was referring to present day New York (where we live and this happened, remember?), and Sharpton's shameless exploits.

I disagree. What he said was absolutely correct. In New York, there is lots of racial tension. If he had been a white guy, this story would have been front-page news for days. And you can bet Rev. Al would be on every news program and organizing protests.

New to the area?

Yes, and you could also cite the Hutus and Tutsis, but the United States is entirely different from Northern Ireland or Rwanda. What's your point? You're indirectly validating Crappy's point by implying that the Protestants and Catholics in Belfast think alike. Are you that desperate to find phoney straw man evidence of "racism"?

Also, if it's an "ignorant assumption that all people of a particular ethnic group think alike", why do the most recent Rasmussen polls show 93% of blacks favoring Obama?

Remember when Rev. Al wore sweatsuits, medallions and James Brown hair?

Unfortunately, most people tend to vote for their own kind.
Jews vote for Jews
Asians vote for Asians
Hispanics vote for Hispanics
Blacks vote for Blacks

etc

Oops, i forgot:

Women vote for women
Old vote for old
Young vote for young

With one exception:

EVERYONE votes for good-looking people. Why is that?

Indeed.

“In multiracial societies, you don't vote in accordance with your economic interests and social interests, you vote in accordance with race and religion.” – Lee Kuan Yew, former prime minister of Singapore

I'm sure the lovely, late l5-year old Keyanna Jones (pictured in the photo?) presented herself so demurely at the "event" as she did here in this photo.

This country definitely follows this philosophy. Although I have to say I was quite surprised at this year's democratic primaries. I was shocked to see as many white midwesterners voting for Obama as there were. I thought Hillary was going to nail it. November's election will be interesting.

Easy: they're not dumbasses.

Did I mention white people? Dang, Mr. Charlie! Wipe that foam off your mouth!

For the record (as if this needed to be said to anyone BUT a dumbass): there are plenty of us white honkey crackers who are going to vote for Barack Hussein Obama.

Ah, thank you Ridgewoodian, for parachuting onto the scene once again, and clarifying everything!

Yes, those 93% voting for Obama are political geniuses, aren't they? A race of "Bagger Vances" perhaps?

Just the same, there were also some blacks who had a vested interest in slavery and fought on the side of the Confederacy, there are also some whites who will vote for Baroque O'Blarney!

Ah, my pornographic, disco loving friend, seeing as how 58% of whites voted for Bush the last time around I'm more than happy to give the blacks the benefit of the doubt on this one.

WADE NICHOLS: A race of "Bagger Vances" perhaps?

I'll take my Gita straight, thanks. I don't do golf movies except Happy Gilmore and I mistrust any man who does.

WOW One sentence referring to Sharpton and everyone misses the point the story.

One wonders the racial makeup of the grand jury. The situation is an awful one.

Kevin O'Donnell also represented Darryl Littlejohn for awhile.
