It's been 2 months since he won the special election, but Anthony Como's ceremonial swearing-in at City Hall was delayed by one thing or another until last week. It was very touching. We're sure he'll live up to the oath...
Right after he was done with the formality, he sent out this postcard to voters in his district - paid for with taxpayer funds. Too bad he misspelled his community affairs liaison's last name (it's Arena). He also quoted himself twice consecutively:
"I am interested in hearing from my neighbors about issues that concern them."
"Whenever I can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact my district office."
It's important to note that he didn't promise to help anyone with anything, just that they should call him. No need to do actual work when you can put plants in the audience that will thank you publicly, just as Como did during his town meeting with Serf last week.
We'll leave you with this train wreck of a sentence from Anthony's official bio, which was finally put on the council's website last week:
"As a life long Queens resident, he currently resides with his wife in Middle Village, Queens."
