Driver Is Hurt After Truck Causes Wall To Collapse

A 50-foot section of a building being constructed in Ravenswood collapsed last Monday, July 28 after a dump truck hit a beam, Fire Department sources said. Reportedly, the accident occurred at around 3:05 p.m. at the site on 37th Avenue near 23rd Street. Though all workers were accounted for and safe, an FDNY spokesperson said, the truck driver was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. Members of Engine companies 258, 260 and 262; Ladder companies 115, 116 and 146; Squad Company 288; Rescue 4 and Battalion 45—under the direction of Division 14—responded to the scene along with the 114th Precinct, EMS units and the Office of Emergency Management.
