BABY-BOY JOY FOR QNS. POL
By MAGGIE HABERMAN, NY Post
Queens Councilwoman Melinda Katz, a leading contender for city comptroller, has given birth to the baby boy she conceived through in-vitro fertilization.
Katz, 42, delivered the baby on Saturday morning, she told The Post.
She will raise him on her own.
Baby Boy Katz - yet to be named - was a little over a month early, and weighed in at 4 pounds, 8 ounces, Katz said.
"He took me a bit by surprise . . . but I'm feeling great and the baby is healthy and beautiful," said the councilwoman.
The only woman running for comptroller, she said she will stay close to home over the next month with the baby, but will keep up on what's happening in her district and in the council through staffers.

Congratulations, Melinda. All the best to you and your son.
Named 'Dick' Katz Junior, so the rumor mill has it.
sure she'll make a great mom.
Good luck to her.
Scorecard for those of you at home:
Responses from those with programs she funds 2
Reponses from those with programs she does not fund 1
Katz in the cradle.
Mazal tov!
Maybe her spawn will grow up to be a crooked egomaniacal "developer"!
Green
is definitely not Melinda's color.
It makes her pasty faced complexion look even more sallow than it is.
I'm gonna dump that bi/council member now that she has a brat
to steal my time!
Melinda, Congratulations to you and your new bundle of joy.
As for those of you that have negitive things to say about an innocent new born, how do you sleep at night. This is a beautiful baby and you should all take a good look at your shameful words and think of your own sad and unworthy lives.
