"Manhole" site has many violations

Worker Rescued From Trench At Construction Site In Brooklyn
NY1

A construction worker was rescued this morning after falling 20 feet into a ditch in Downtown Brooklyn.

The accident happened at a construction site at 80 Dekalb Avenue just after 11 a.m.

The worker slipped and fell into a hole that was dug for a new foundation. He was quickly pulled out of the pit by fire crews and hoisted up to street level where he received medical attention.

“He has some trauma injuries, pretty much like your neck and your back injuries,” said FDNY Chief Mary Lou Aurrichio. “And like I said, he was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is being assessed there.”

There is no word on the victim's identity or condition. No one else was injured.
