The Federation of Black Cowboys facility is located in Howard Beach.
In addition to the Black Cowboys, queens also has a 25 year old Country Western Music and Dancing Association. The New York Metropolitan Country Music Association. www.NYMCMA.org
They hold free events in the parks to teach the public country dancing and can even boast they brought Garth Brooks to Forest Park in 1989 as well as mentioned in his biography.
These guys are cool!!
Blacks defined the western archtype of cowboys by rouding up cattle on the Montauk plains in the early 1800s.
Their ranch straddles the two boroughs, and both are equally proud of them.
