Middle of the Road

Please tell us, oh PLEASE tell us, DOB, that you did not grant a permit for this 3-family piece of Queens Crap which apparently was part of a row of one-family houses attached on both sides! Oh, the humanity!

Submitted by G.G. via his cell phone from 98th Street near Queens Boulevard in Rego Park.

Of course DOB granted this "carbunckle-thing" a building permit. What do they care about except the $$$$$$$$$ they make for our city issuing such permits. They're not here to police violations! In a way, breaking up the unified sweep of this tasteful row of houses and plunking down a "Frankenstein" monster, smack in the middle, is one of the worst forms of "block-busting". Note, that a house a few down to the right in this photo, has a "for sale" sign in the front yard. He wants to get out! But, what's he going to be able to get for it now that the block has been de-valued? Would you want to buy it? I guess the builder who destroyed the first one will!

That's the whole point. Get rid of the trouble makers. They demand the quality of life things that are difficult for the machine to deliver.
