Bars and restaurants with liquor licenses will be required to close at 10 p.m., along with gyms, and all indoor gatherings at private residences will be capped at ten people, under new statewide coronavirus restrictions announced on Wednesday by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Staten Island will also face additional lockdown measures, the governor said.

"Bars, restaurants, gyms, house parties — that's where it's coming from, primarily," Cuomo told reporters. "If these measures aren't sufficient to slow the spread, we will turn the valve more," he added, referring to additional restrictions.

The new orders come as COVID cases and hospitalizations across the country have skyrocketed to levels not seen since spring. Earlier on Wednesday, New York City reported its highest number of daily infections since May.

The statewide positive test rate was 2.9 percent, and 1,628 people were in the hospital with the virus as of Wednesday. "What were are seeing is what they predicted for months," the governor said.

Gee right before Thanksgiving. Interesting. Maybe little Mussolini doesn't want families to start talking about the attempted STEAL and his misdeeds.

But COVID allows certain people to protest or celebrate the election of their political candidate with no response from the Gov.

The Bugermeister Meisterberger from the classic Xmas special "Santa Claus is coming to town. Applied restrictions to toys for health reasons (after he broke his leg tripping on one)

I'm surprised no one remembers this. It's still on TV every year. Didn't think it was that much of an obscure reference. oh well.

Defund Thanksgiving! If everyone just carries a ACAB or BLM sign them they would avoid fine or jail just saying you are busy protesting

JQ,

The Bugermeister Meisterberger is a perfect image for this post. I certainly remember these movies. They're classics.

Telling us how many people to have in our homes is against the 4th Amendment to the Constitution.

Of course, but minor things like the Constitution don't bother the central planners at the Politburo.

Lot of folks these days sound like kids with all the "what about them" comments. It's like Johnny broke the rules, so why do I have to obey kid nonsense. As my mom used to say, if Johnny jumps off the roof, are you jumping too?
