Ozone Park comes out in force against shelter

From PIX11:

On Tuesday night, an incoming homeless shelter, reportedly designed to house more than 100 men, possibly classified as mentally ill, sat high on the meeting’s agenda.

“We are asking this board to put out a strongly worded letter, putting the city on notice, that we the community, we the residents, we the parents, we the constituents, we the homeowners, and we the business owners, do not want this type of shelter where they’re planning on putting it,” Esposito said.

The Administration has already given its “notice” to this neighborhood of plans to bring the shelter.

But Department of Social Services Commissioner Steven Banks did not show up to face his detractors – as he has in the past.

So these residents were basically left to shout into the wind, venting if you will, perhaps, on some level, reluctantly accepting the inevitable.

Weasel Banks is such a spineless cunt. Looks like another community has to assemble in front of his lovely spacious brownstone home in Windsor Terrace in Brooklyn.

A strongly worded letter? They are pissing their pants..LOL!!!

Queens is becoming a big target for these new shelters. These residents should be applauded for standing up !!

Sorry to say but no matter how much you protest, the city will do what it wants anyway. Thank mayor dumbdumb.

Neighborhoods and business owners can put the City on notice all it wants...when it comes to these types of deals, it's already done...Someone on the community board or the city council got their palms greased and that is that

Coming out in force of numbers cannot beat the force of money and the fact that Ozone Oark is seen as expendable. They get dumped on while Douglaston gets spared. As NYC sees it areas like this are shite hole dumping grounds. Northeast Queens DEFINITELY is not. End of story. Time to move before it gets worse....and it will!

Protest all you want, Queens is the shittiest borough in the shittiest city in America. Only overrated tards believe NYC is a great place to live. They clearly never been anywhere that is actually nice like Southwestern France, the German Alps, the Costa Del Sol in Spain.
Want a decent life? Go to a smaller city preferably with a more moderate government rather than the leftist trash we have in New York.

...Europe is nice , if you can avoid the invading horde of migrants.
That's getting much harder to do. Look at what's happened in Munich or in Sweden.
Even the celebrities hiding in Lake Cuomo aren't spared!

As far as NYC, it's the center of the action so you have to take the good with the bad. Just don't roll over and think you have to take ALL the bad though!
Nobody ever lived to 100 years in the German Alps and said their life was full of excitement. Beautiful, but not the full human experience. Enough said.

As far as the outrage from the community.
Take a poll in that room on who is registered Democrat. The numbers tell us that
5 out of 6 of those people are Democrats, so they have only themselves to blame.

Stop voting in Democrat/Socialist/Saul Aulinsky-stooge mayors who weren't born in NYC and don't give a damn about preserving the middle class.

Southwestern France, Germany ?
Are you nuts ?
You mean where you have a 65% socialism tax and can be arrested on the train, anyplace for saying anything a person feels is "offensive"
That includes a person eavesdropping on a private conversation in seat behind you.
(same shit in Canada BTW)
No thanks !!

I do assume is better then Queens for freeloaders, they give free dental, healthcare, housing even sex changes to anybody. --make the working people pay for it, yea. Both are also Muzlim ridden cesspools unless you are willing to move to the countryside and live like a troll, cant have guns ---PFFFT!!

"German Alps"
The Germans managed to destroyied their whole country in under 8 years listening to Obama & Merkel, lousy voting habits for New World Order and liberals. The Krouts have it worse then Queens now, the islamics now beat woman & clergy on the street in broad daylight in citys, anything with a cross on it removed or burned to the ground.

Yea go to the alps, freeze ass off and buy an airplane to get to a doctor or buy a loaf of bread or pizza. FUUUUG THAT !!

How come they never put any of these shelters in Windsor Terrace or Park Slope?

Now, how many of these homeless men originate from Queens County? This is socio-economic engineering. They are relocating generationally poor people into stable, middle class neighborhoods in order for the locals to get these persons out of poverty. Stable public schools, low crime, drug free, clean environment. Not only do we pay the highest taxes and fees in our entire country, we are now being made compulsory social workers. Congratulations!

WHERE'S QUEEN KATZ IN ALL THIS?????

Thank you anonymous. I have been saying this for years, I call it gerrymandering poverty and destitution. And now the obvious warehousing of the homeless is happening in Ozone Park and South Ozone Park too. 7 hotels and now this building. The citizens are helpless no thanks to that flaccid chump Eric Ulrich, who being a Republican should know better and who you would expect to be more assertive.

I have no doubt a lot of these men came from Brooklyn, and I'm sure it's East New York too and they are moving them here because of the rezoning development plan and oozing, creeping gentrification happening there.

Just returned from a two month stay in a rural area of Europe, surprised to see almost no diversity, old fashion manners everywhere, family run and staffed retail shops and restaurants, no Mexicans or other third world kitchen staff, it seems like cousins or young relatives do the menial jobs, something like Queens was in the 50's; anyway it was nice ...

The answer to this question is quite simple. The majority demographic doesn't want it there, and if you dare call them out on their hypocracy, well then, I guess you're nothing more than an anti-Semite.

How come they never put any of these shelters in Windsor Terrace or Park Slope?

The majority demographic???? In Ozone Park it is not people who look like Sam Esposito from what I see on 101.

Are you implying what you seem to be implying? If that's the case, why is Kew Gardens getting yet another homeless shelter?

you don't need to go to europe to find that. drive 4 hours in any direction and you can find something nice.

BP Katz: This is not good for families therefore it is not good for Queens. Agreed?

...once again for the slow,
this policy of spreading the poverty around the city in an effort to destroy decades of organic, grass-roots societal structuring, is a DEMOCRAT policy!
This is what DEMOCRATS voted for when they elected this guy.

Why some simpletons here choose to attack Republicans is a mystery since there are only a few in the city council and no state level Republicans in the entire county of Quees.
This policy is being instituted by Mayoral decree through his lackeys at the Department of Homeless Services.

Stop getting stuck on stupid and understand that if you voted for this type of garbage social-engineering, there is no use in trying to pin it on the Republicans.

Vote Republican and you'll see actual changes back to normal.
As in:
NOT closing Rikers in order to put friendly neighborhood jails in middle class areas.
NOT opening pop-up homeless shelters in every nice neighborhood.
NOT changing admission policies at our best schools.
NOT treating the middle class like societal toilet paper used to wipe away all the
crap accumulated from years of failed DEMOCRAT policies.

"drive 4 hours in any direction and you can find something nice."...With the traffic congestion from bus, bike lanes and overcrowding, 4 hours barely gets me out of the City limits.

No. Maybe the rank and file SWPL progressive liberal and SJW foot soldiers are truly stupid enough to believe this but our political/bureaucratic masters know better. 50 years of social engineering programs, wealth re-distribution and foisting the blank slate theory on us has changed nothing. These shelters will change nothing about the vast majority people who will live in them. They will still be poor and most likely homeless due to low IQ, substance abuse or psychological issues. Human beings are not re-programmable meat puppets.
Besides, living in a shelter for free is the path of least resistance.

Even an incompetent would realize these dog's breakfasts of social programs are failing and would attempt to rectify or scrap them. But they still continue largely as is and even grow, so we must conclude that their stated goals are not in fact the real goals of the program and our betters simply don't care if they work or not.
But why?

My theory is that it does not matter where these homeless people come from, how many show up or if they ever get their lives on track or not but that they will introduce a transient element to the population that will completely destroy any sense of community and cripple, if not destroy, any opposition to our managerial masters' further plans or threaten their wealth and power.

Further, it will allow politically connected hotel/motel owners to get their snouts in the public trough in return for political donations and perhaps some under the table favors. A pretty neat way to launder tax money into politician's pockets. Leave it to the Democrats to come up a with sordid plan like this.

Also it will depress property values, force out working class, lower middle class residents allowing developers to snap up properties for a song when it is decided to make Ozone Park the "new hot nabe" after out of towner hipsters "discover" it and jack up the rents with mommy and daddy's money. A win-win all around. /sarc

Finally, you can't change any of this.
You can't (or won't even try) to vote your way out. Refer to Sam Francis' writing on how in a managerial state, the citizen has a vote but no power.

Your protests will fail because you're only complaining about the shelter location, not that the public should not be financing homeless shelters at all.
There is no debate if you fundamentally agree with your opponent, only minor hair splitting quibbles that nobody else would care about enough to support.
As an example, the Vietnam war protests were successful as the protesters wanted all U.S. troops out of Vietnam. They didn't play the wishy-washy moderate compromisers and quibble over troop numbers or where the troops were deployed. It was all or nothing.

The solution.
Short of truly effective, wide scale protests that diametrically oppose all progressive state policies and widespread support for write-in anti-prog candidates outside the red team/blue team bi-factional uniparty, the only solution I can see is the current system must completely collapse and then rebuilt from scratch. Unfortunately, the latter is far more likely than the former.

Sorry for going on so long and such a downer but there it is.
Hope I've added something useful here.

Internal political squabbles or tit for tat bs may be why Kew Gardens gets a shelter. There's more money and more connections in Park Slope plus the mayor lives there. But I still stand by my original comment.

"Rural Europe it was nice"
------------------------------
Nice if you can adapt to live in the country, its a death sentence for most city person or anybody in need of healthcare or a simple a walk to bodega. Most can never adapt to that type of slow paced, quiet boring living I dont care how cheap a house and land is.
Put me in the country = kill me

HaHa, good luck Ozone Park. I live in Queens Village and these guys cause havoc through out the neighborhood. They aggressive panhandle, pee and poop in public, endanger your you child walking to school lots of pedophiles. These people smoke lots of K2 so prepare for them to be laid out in front of your home. I don't understand why they are allowed to roam the streets, they still need mental treatment and some become very violent. This city is going to crap.
