Vermont hipster renting out Far Rockaway boat as hotel

Miss Heather recently dropped this bomb on me.
Ziggy Stardust? $850 per night? Seriously? Trying to capitalize on the death of a real artist? I'm sure this fellow is one of those classic AirBnB users who are "working class people just trying to make ends meet".
The deposit is more than the nightly rental fee. There's a $200 cleaning fee?
This chooch rents out cabins in Vermont...and a boat in Far Rockaway?
He ran an illegal restaurant which was shut down, so he branched out into the illegal hotel business.
Ah, so it's part of the Boatel (which was shut down) marina. What a surprise!

I wonder how much tax this chap is paying.

Amazing what these idiot "shitsters" would pay to stay in any of the 5 boroughs! If someone is dumb enough to pay for something like this then I say that they deserve what they get! Ziggy stardust is laughing at idiots that want to stay in some crap like that! And I say that I don't blame them! I'd be laughing all the way to the bank too if I got over on idiots who think this is a great place to stay at!

Good for him. Make every buck you can and fuck everyone else. He's just doing what everyone else is.

That looks like Averne by the sea, and this hipshit must fancy himself as some sort of pioneer or renaissance man instead of the invasive gentrifying lowlife parasite that he is. I hope he gets some interest from some of the locals across the drive from the projects, he looks like a guy that can handle a little diversity, even if they will be packing heat.

This is going to be one fucked up summer in the Rock. I don't know what I can write that I haven't wrote before about the generation gentrification mission creep that is going on there (which was momentarily thwarted by Sandy), but now with this pile of shit using the criminal enterprise app to plunder money and culture from the beach and the city and the second year of that obnoxious booze, luxury blandness and dull music by Riis and Fort tilden, it's not going to be desirable or comfortable for anyone who live there and for longtime residents who been going there for a lifetime.

This hipshit, like most of Generation Gentrification, have no shame and have way to much self-esteem. And now he fancies himself as some sort of outlaw because he ran illegal eateries or a barsteraunt in his apt? (this is where seamless, grubhub and every other bike delivery app does business by the way) And this city is so lax when it comes to anyone who has a modicum of celebrity or attracts a ton of frivolous spending idiots to pay obese rents just to live in the presence of them that this prick can jetset regularly and continue partying like a spoiled rich prepubescent child.

This summer in the rock, as well as this hipshits boatel and the selectively rebuilt boardwalk with those high end barsteraunts, is going to resemble Gatsby's house. For this is a modern gilded age and it won't be fun except for the people who can afford it. And clearly there won't be any proper repression, because drinking and pissing in public is now legal and we got these hipshits to thank for that.

The only way this can be stop is too just keep going there, and cramp their lame ass style.

Enjoy your little venture Ziggy Stardust, you little shit. And when you're done...

Could someone please explain who Miss Heather is? I'm lost.

Um.... not Staten Island (yet). "...pay to stay in any of the 5 boroughs!"

This is not in Averne. This is further away from that. and even closer to a concentration of NYCHA projects. The map is wrong, has Riis Park near Beach 80th Street.

How safe is it to be in an unlocked house boat? There's been more shootings and robberies since January.

Surfers and Artists? They come from outside the peninsula. More like convicted felons, convicted sex offenders, mentally ill and disabled elderly, lots of crack heads and meth heads.

AIRB&B CAN'T BE STOPPED....

oh go ahead, and pull our electeds away from Hillary and transgender bathroom bullshit into something useful like this.

Is it possible that dick could have posted a bogus map on the listing to avoid being traced, since he considers himself an underground food outlaw or renegade. A lot of these hipshits meet up via the social media for their little events.

Miss Heather does a blog called newyorkshitty, which has been dormant for a while. Worth checking out the archives, Especially this gem...

Crappy, When I saw this nauseating listing, I thought it was the same douche that was renting vans and cabs by the river in Brooklyn which had renters resorting to using baby wipes and public bathrooms (aka outside).

Thanks for the update on Shitty and map correction. I will now ride over there with a carton of rotten eggs and vinegar saturation bombs.

and airbnb will be stopped. These people are hubristic morons, who are only coasting right now because of the city's obsession with making every nook and cranny of each borough a tourist and hipshit hotspot and that Mayor Big Slow hasn't been busted yet for his criminal negligence, which is having a drastic sociological effects everywhere in the 5 boroughs. From rampant stabbings to violating work permits for rampant development.

As for the massive amount of gunfire, it is not getting any attention at all, which is hard to focus when there are so many stabbings going on in high market rate and high speculative market rate towns. It's apparent that the media is getting coaxed by our appointed city planners to make sure no tourist, hipster, marginal celebrity, pretentious artist or predatory developer is dissuaded from coming to the beach and gentrifying the east side.

Riis Park is further west, it's not in the middle of the peninsula

Looks like the houseboat that Ari used to have at Marina 59. Smack in between Arverne and Edgemere.

I know this guy. You got Ben pegged for someone else. He’s a stand up man by all means. He not only has a tremendous trail of feats impossible for most mortal men but he works his ass off to execute his vision.

Yeah, he’s got a few pirating ways, primarily for shits and giggles) but a scam artist he is NOT.

I met Ben in 2000. He sold lobster rolls on the weekends, awesome clam chowder and harpoon beer from a little alleyway on North7th in Williamsburg when it wasn’t cool yet. He started doing surf lessons and a surf club on the Rockaways a year later. He transformed a dying Italian restaurant on North 6th OVERNIGHT with himself and 8 buddies into what still exist as Surf Bar on North6th (Wburg).

I’ve helped get him sponsors for fishing events in the East River and his first FX tv show. Gems gone on to the Food Network and eventually an epic and beautiful houseboat.

The Dr. Claw thing is typical of Ben. He’s brilliant and executes his vision not for the money, per se, but for fun. The guy is a genuine charmer and all the hating in the world is not going to stop him. He’s truly a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guy through and through. I’m just sayin’. He is the same man you see in the YouTube videos.
