An interesting juxtaposition of this post and the next one.

When has that fountain ever worked? Does anyone remember?

Just curious. Is Mocker gay? ["Not that there's anything wrong with that." - Seinfeld]

But man o man, he swishses a mean cape.

Mocker is a pretty cool guy, he challenges the parks deparment and doesn't afraid of anything.

Definitely gay or a hipster, there's no difference.

Well Mocker is not from Queens .... but the community board person is.

Says a lot.

The Queens Preservation Council has this just outside the window where they meet.

The boro historian ....

Oh, we don't have to finish this. We know where this post is going, right?

As long as Queens finds excuses to put up with its self imposed bullshit, the rest of the city will found excuses to keep it there.

really this is what this blog has got to complain about. A statue, really, wow! I remember when this place was actually interesting. Looks like the new leaders of Queens Crap have really dropped the ball.

Been posting about Civic Virtue since 2007. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your ass once in awhile, you'd know that.

"Well Mocker is not from Queens"

Mocker lives in Astoria, for your information.

Def. He practices sucking in his cheeks while looking in the mirror.

So just how do you define hipster?

Anonymous said...

White guy who wrote for BushwickBK, lives in Astoria, works in the media/arts and comes from the midwest?

Yeah, I would say he qualifies as a hipster.

Well you have an argument there, BUT hipsters don't care about anything outside their own little world, in fact they pride themselves on not caring. And you can tell Mocker cares. He's not like your average Queens reporter who doesn't ask any questions because he's pissed that he moved here thinking he'd land a big gig at the Times.

Indeed, Mocker comes from Ohio. Definitely a transplant. But it's good to see him fight for Queens, in Willets Point and elsewhere.
