If it's February, it must be time for a pothole photo op

From NY1:

Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan was talking about potholes when she said on Friday, "It’s been a really tough winter.” Yet she could have been speaking for herself.

From the blizzard response to bicycle lanes, Sadik-Khan has been under fire lately, and now she has got a pothole epidemic on her hands,

On Friday, she took a hands-on approach and fixed a pothole in Hollis Hills, Queens to show her department is on top of the problem.

“The severity of the storms and the amount of snow that’s been dropped on our streets, it’s tough," she said. "And then we have the freeze-thaw cycles that go along with it, so it’s been a very difficult season for our streets.”

It's also been a difficult season for her. Sadik-Khan was grilled by the City Council over bike lanes; pilloried in the editorial pages for her role in the blizzard fiasco; and just this week, mocked by Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

A Saddik-Khan sighting in Queens??? Did she arrive by bicycle? Or did she take the subway, then a bus? It's a mystery

Drive into that pothole with a bike!

I called 311 in Oct re: a small opening in the road on my street (80th Street) opening only 6in in diameter but is a foot deep. Just like last year I expect it to open to 3ft in diameter and open new ones with water traveling under the roadway opening new ones as far away as 100ft.

Of course 311 has no record of my call despite my ticket # and expect someone will lose an axle soon or walk into it catching their foot and fall. With the freeze thaw this hole will become a monster and perhaps I will send you a picture shortly.

Like this woman knows anything about repairing potholes. She's certifiably nuts.

What's with the Grand Central Parkway these days? Over by LaGuardia. It's like driving on the Mormon Trail.

What does an Arab from San Fransisco know about potholes ?
Khan and her bike lanes are a friggan joke.
Does this Mayor have one straight or normal person from NY on his staff ?

Yes the Grand Central Parkway is like driving on a cold war scud missile test area

Crappy hit it right on the head.

Look at how those shots are all setup and framed. The CRT monitor viewfinder on the left camera is flipped up and its screen changed to a transflective.
What bullshit !!

I wonder if Kahn did a dress rehearsal, including lists of censored and pre-approves questions like the Mayor does for press conferences
