Not standing for signs

From Bay Terrace Cafe:

Our community is dedicated to stamping out graffiti, illegal posting, stickers and any other form of vandalism. The irresponsible people who deface our neighborhoods should face criminal charges, pay for the clean-up and be publicly embarrassed.

I don't get it. The cops and garbage men pass these signs by every day. What? They can't stop their vehicles and tear them down? Not to mention summonsing the offenders?

Why doesn't Bayside Cafe et alia take the photos to the Police and Sanitation supervisors and DEMAND action?

one of these days, when i'm retired, i'm going to stalk all these posters and annoy them by calling them and pretending to be interested it what they're selling, and then saying, "no thanks"

These street sign guys get their pointers from the NYC DOT who must spend a billion buck a year plastering the city with every type of sign they can dream up. Not to mention painting up all the streets with lines and stripes and decals and you name it.

Talk about information overload.

These sign are a blight on our neighborhoods. I go around on Saturday morn and remove what I can around Woodhaven & Metropolitan. But they are posting them higher these days, and using stronger nails and I cannot always get a good grip. (Yes, I sometimes look ridiculous!)How do they do that? Trucks? Buckets? I also will mention that commercial establishments like MacDonald's also post on telephone poles--way high up. I will call 311 on that as you suggested. Thx.

The hell? I wrote a story about illegal ads two months ago, and posted it in a video, which The Crapper generously posted. Now the local businesses are picking up this story. When will the local newspapers?

You are right about Manhattan. You never see this there.

But many of these are oversized gaudy looking signs, which is now the template for taste in immigrant Queens( look at the SUVS they drive and McMansions they live in).

This is tweeder territory.

No can touch!

They are using bucket trucks! Dozens were posted along Queens Blvd back in the Fall= about 15 feet above the street; Called 311 and DSNY had them all down in 2 days. (Some more have cropped up lately)
Call 311--- it really works!

Tsk, tsk, tsk!

Those spoiled little "darlings"
of Bayside can't seem to stomach
the Flushing-ization
of their sequestered community.

Signs of the times!

How would you closet bigots like these to be in Chinese or Korean?

A little ghetto look is good for everyone to remind us where we all came from.

Like we're going to divert
NYC's already strained sanitation, NYPD, etc. services to deal with your petty problems PDQ!

Rip those signs off yourselves
since they're illegal.

Be your own servants or call the Staviskys!
