City fines at an all time high

From AM-NY:

Fines for parking tickets, litter and other violations reached a record high of $993 billion in the 2016 fiscal year, according to a report released by the city comptroller Wednesday.

Since the 2013 fiscal year, when the city collected $811 million in fines, violations have been increasing, with parking tickets leading the way, according to the report.

In the last fiscal year, the city collected $545 million in ticket revenues. Quality of life violations, such as littering, building fines and noise complaints, were the second biggest category with $184 million in revenues.

That should be "993 million", not "billion". Though it sure does feel like it sometimes!

Litter fines, REALLY. From the looks of the major garbage city, looks like they actually pay people to throw litter and garbage all over.

Funny... I got a red light speeding ticket and it was only 50 dollars yet my father got a 100 dollar fine for just putting his garbage out a couple of hours too early. Yesterday my father caught the sanitation department once again giving a ticket out to a lady across the street and my father said he saw nothing wrong with the woman's garbage at all and it wasnt out there too early either so he had no idea why they gave her a ticket. They want to start following these laws but yet they REFUSE to deport these illegal criminals. Womderful society we live in all thanks to mayor dumbdumb.

Is there a $ dollar amount for the cost of collecting the $993 million? (not billion)

Alas, the whole entrenched-and-incompetent system of New York City and State government is a pathological, treasonous, traitorous scourge of flagrant political abuse, dereliction of public duty and taxation without representation. I can't think of a single statesman who leads by honest, ethica, inclusionary, NOT FOR SALE leadership. Worse, the politicians are still rewarded for monstrous fail, whilst everyone else continues to pay a soul-crushing price.

Look around, Queens Crappers. Notice how the exalted, untouchable dictators in the city council, assembly, senate and the entire, openly practicing criminal inmates of Albany and City Hall have taken over the asylum? That's why there is even more violence, lawlessness, vigilantism and outright anarchy on the streets than there was back in the 1970s, when New York City was declared bankrupt. Now, New York State is morally bankrupt, and even more corrupt, entrenched and establishment-rigged than all organized crime family rings worlwide COMBINED!

Now, could $993 Billion be a mistake, instead of $993 Million? Because, that would be an unbelievable fine gap from fiscal year 2013, when the revenue was $811 Million——even for hyper-corrupt New York standards of anarchy!

Please check your figures again. Queens Crap (and source material from AM-NY)!

That should be $993 million in fines, not $993 billion! What a crappy mistake.

What would the city do if nobody broke any laws? Right! Raise taxes.

Someone has to pay for DeBlasio's sanctuary city.

Open your wallet and shut your mouth, comrade.

NYC collects in fine what is equivalent to 25% the entire federal budget lol.

Remember Rachel Noerdlinger, former Chief of Staff to Mrs DeBlasio, who had like $900 of unpaid parking tix? She was forced to resign for other reasons, but the great administration wasn't bothered by the unpaid tickets that she racked up while cruising around in her Benz. How can they expect the avg citizen to pay fines when they themselves are above such things?
