How's this for a contextual building?

This lovely specimen is located at 32-56 Steinway Street in Astoria and is basically one huge ad.

Why? Because they can.

1. wonder how close they are to community board 1

2. wonder how close they are to CALDC

3. wonder if they made any campaign donations

Hey its Astoria. Cram a craft beer place or hookah lounge on the first floor and its fine.

Now if there is a homeless shelter, well hell they have to carried ranting from the scene.

Astoria.... Luv it or Leave it!

I believe this is the building with the lounge/club on the top floor that blares music at night. It has speakers on the OUTSIDE of the building. It might be the other hideous crap real estate building a few doors down, though.

I don't get the appeal of Astoria - it doesn't have any charm.

It just seems to be full of incredibly ugly new construction.

That's the appeal of Astoria. It's charmless.

I for one am sick and tired of "charm". Give me that Old Time Utilitarian Blah.

Sewage treatment plants next to the Steinway Mansion. Drunken Mexicans next to the paint store. Those wonderful weeds on the big lawn at the Astoria Park. Mismatched siding and roofing.

Yup. Make Mine Mediocrity. Astoria. It'l bor-i-ya. I despise "what's happening".

Building is the epitome of overdevelopment which is rented out to a Real Estate Brokerage firm responsible for overpricing everything and everybody in sight here in Astoria.

Astoria is the sister community of Flushing. Both equally chaotic and charmless.

this proves that the current method of advertising is worse than the so-called scourge of graffiti in the 70's.

this building couldn't even be improved with vandalism.let's hope those realtors get no business, now that everyone can recognize them.
