Disturbing sight by Muni Lot 1

"Hey there, today I was in Flushing by 37th ave where the the municipal lot is, and there is this car parked there that I have attached photos of. I understand that people died last week in a car crash but do you happen to know why they would park that there in downtown Flushing? It's very bloody and disturbing." - Tiffany
Answer: It was the closest open spot near the 109th precinct.

More photos were sent in by the Flushing Phantom.

This was the fatal crash of the driver who was going 100mph on the Grand Central last week.
He and his girlfriend were both killed on impact when he list control of his car and crashed into a tree.
Tragic. Speed kills.

Have you ever seen what the parking lot of the 109 Precinct looks like? It's really small.

I do agree though it's a very disturbing and sad sight, they should have at least covered it.

I'm surprised Councilman Koo hasn't found a way to sell off the 109's parking lot and squeeze in another building.

I'm surprised they didn't tow the wreck to Jamaica, where it would fit in "nicely" with the other wrecks all over the streets there...

Yet another example of the coarsening taste of Queens - from middle class mecca to, well just another Mecca - and I would wager in Mecca they would never permit this display of civic life.

We could go into the usual suspects - why the local press cannot dig itself out of the thicket of political photo ops, or the electeds bestir themselves to pass SOMETHING that would forbid what commence sense and decency should dictate.

Of course we all know the answer why our complains will be ignored in Queens: there are no adults out there that we can talk to.

That we need something with the fitting name of Queens Crap to broadcast this is a sad comment on our times.

So the crash happened between exit 24 and 25 in Fresh Meadows so why is the car on 37th avenue and 138th street ?

"...why is the car on 37th avenue and 138th street ?"

Good question. A news story said this...

"Gao, who attended Benjamin Cardozo High School, according to her Facebook page, had posted a message and photos implying she would be going to Kissa Bar, a Flushing restaurant and bar, at 133-42 37th Ave, the night of the crash."

Perhaps it has to do with the location of the bar the 16 year old girl was partying at the night of the deadly crash.

It's good reminder to the newcomers that you should follow the traffic laws!

The article says they crashed on the LIE in Fresh Meadows, WHY IN THE WORLD IS THE CAR AT THE PARKING LOT?

They towed it all the way to the parking lot to place flower on it ?

Once again, they towed it to the police station. The accident happened in the 109th Pct.
