$300M down the drain, people evicted for nothing?

From Fox 5:

The Atlantic yards complex that will become the new home for the NBA's Nets could be a lot smaller than originally planned.

The developer had promised 16 residential and office buildings, affordable housing, and recreational facilities along with the stadium.

Much of that vision is on the chopping block. Documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission by developer Bruce Ratner and his Forest City Enterprises show that much of the project could be scrapped because of money problems.

How much are the Nets putting in the pot?

He has also proposed to change the prospective name of that team to one that may not have Brooklyn mentioned at all.

Probably will be some company's name. More whoring to corporations.

I don't why anyone should be surprised by these developments. Anything to do with landlords and realestate is the replete with connivance.

Scum of the earth.

How many times does Lucy have to pull the football away before we realize that Charlie Brown is really the one to blame for this continuing year after year?

Maybe the Nets can consider playing with Ratner's or Bloomberg's head.

Oops...either one is much too big to fit though a hoop.

It's more like how much did we (City-State) give him. Once he has to put his in he shrinks the project. Ratner works on the OPM principal - allways use other people's money!

If it wan't for the protests and lawsuits, the entire complex would have been completed during the boom years.

So yeah, its their own fault.
