New Jersey helps with City EMS calls
From CBS 2:
A winter storm that dumped nearly 2 feet of snow on New York City is also whipping up criticism about how the city handled the response.
The heavy snow sent city emergency services into a nose dive, with ambulances and fire trucks trapped in snow and facing long delays. There was also bickering between the city and some unions over whether a snow emergency should have been called, CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer reported.
Just how much did the city struggle in its response to medical and fire emergencies on Monday? So bad that CBS 2 has learned EMS crews from three counties in New Jersey had to rush to New York City’s aid Monday night.
Crews from Burlington, Somerset and Mercer counties in New Jersey arrived in New York City to help with the back load of calls – 20 crews were assigned to Queens and 20 ambulances went to Brooklyn.

Send all the help they want, without clear streets, no one is going to get through.
Still waiting for plows in North Flushing. If someone has a heart attack on my street, Godspeed to them, because no one is getting through to help them.
ditto...ditto...ditto....at 203 street north from northern blvd. to the l.i.r.r.. the deadend streets along the l.i.r.r. are impassable.
the driveways are cleared by homeowners so as not to be fined, but cars are locked into the community .
the only exit is 42 avenue W. to f.lewis.blvd. or the clearview serviceroad S.,but they are also impassable???
the worst sanitation snow removal service in 50years,since the lindsay admin.
remember on election day....and curse our democrat political dictatorship/dept. of sanitation union slackers. no raises ,no pensions...write to your CM's.
My friend who's a nurse at Elmhurst hospital says there is a FDNY ambulance stuck there. The city has yet to plow the emergency room parking lot. This is 9 PM on Tuesday night!!!!
At the first poster - in all fairness the city did put metal gates to block off some of the side streets off Crocheron in lieu of plowing.
I guess if those residents need 911 they will just wait until Friday when the snow melts...
bayside deadend streets had visit from a plow,
north to l.i.r.r.
IT DID NOT PLOW THE SNOW....? 10:pm tue,12/28 .could there be a collusion of city workers versus the taxpayers.
buses stuck for two days, ems stuck for days(fire dept.)plows stuck ? towtruck crushing a parked car ?
fire trucks stuck ??????
something is fishy.....

What does that even mean? The city drove through to put up gates, yet can't plow? What?
