Sunnyside restaurant dealt drugs

From Sunnyside Post:

In late July, Manolo’s Mexican Restaurant (located on Greenpoint Ave. and 47th) abruptly closed — and many believed that it fell victim to a difficult economy.

However, police confirmed last night, that it was shut down due to cocaine dealing on the premises. The owners were arrested at the time.

That's a big loss for the neighborhood. Restaurants like that make neighborhoods vibrant and diverse.

Sunnyside residents who are fans of Mexican food and cocaine will miss the convenience of one-stop shopping.

And not one person is shocked.

we had wondered how this place was even open that long since there were never people eating there. I guess they had brisk business from the Mexican sports bar next door.

Actually their breakfast was really good there. OH well.

Blabs, what are "Blahnik's"?

Aren't those shoes? (zapatos?)

And why the apostrophe?

Girlfriend, where have you been the past 8 years?

Living in a cave in Tora Bora?

Haven't you watched Sex and the City?

You've never heard of Manolo Blahnik shoes?

And if I have to explain the joke to you, it's not funny!

And why the apostrophe?

What are you, the Grammar Gestapo?

Geez, give me a break already!

It's bad enough I have to find a new supplier, now that Manolo's is closed!

And I also have to find a new place to get shoes!

The war on drugs has made NO progress since it conception. One dealer/organization/seller whatever you call em, gets arrested. Two more will pop up in their place.

Every person of every race, of every economic level etc etc etc does drugs. Even if we don't look at alcohol and tobacco as a drug, the majority of people in new york city are on crack, coke, weed, dope, meth, pcp and the list goes on forever.

The pill epidemic is ridiculous.

I get them from a neighborhood shaman/Santeria store in Queens, in the neighborhood of.....

I'm sorry, Blabs. I thought you were really Babs. My bad. You didn't have to explain the joke and it was funny. And I am the grammar gestapo. Peace out.

No - they are not. I am as libertarian as they come, but don't be an ass. "Most" people use, and don't abuse, booze, grass and caffeine. And that's about it.

Hey Deke - if you're serious, we need to meet.

I miss the shrooms man.

And I love this site, but I stopped coming b/c the comments were often so bitter and negative that I couldn't stand it.

But just seeing someone who actually knows what "ayahuasca" is is very refreshing. You've restored my faith in this borough and blog.

That's ok cause we can expect some childish baiting with nothing to really say intelligently, but calling names instead of engaging them in a conversation. That's the tea brain mentality. They earned the name with all their unproductive might slandering people in the first place.

Babs was always polite in her responses.

"by a "SIGN"? - you're telling me that someone had to TELL YOU to put up a "No Trespassing Sign" on the (YOUR) property? I ASSUMED that there was one there already - ANYONE with HALF a brain would have assumed likewise. You couldn't figure that one out yourself????!

AND that's it now - the problem has been solved!! No more prostitutes - Dudley Doo-right to the RESCUE!"

That was from Babs. That's polite?

It seems like if you want coke in this neighborhood its the easiest thing to find. But for the more mellow drug users who just want some pot this place is like a desert.
