Mosque may be moved further east

That's interesting. I thought it had to be in close proximity to Ground Zero and that it wasn't a mosque. So everything we've heard were lies?

Check the map they put up at :25. It's a bit confusing. They're highlighting the other mosque, it looks like, while labeling Park51 as "cultural center." I'm guessing they're talking about the mosque that's been there since before the WTC was built? And passing it off as the Islamic Cultural Center by being as obtuse as possible?

I dunno, it's so laced with bullshit I can't decipher any of it. We need a translator here. Someone tell me what Dan Halloran's ugly kid brother is reporting about please?

But in short, yes Crapper, when you get your info from Fox News, it's going to be lies.

Oh no, wait, I got it. Yeah, they're talking about Park51. Took me a while.

You linked a video from Fox. Maybe it's the network with a consistently failing memory about mosque vs. community center.

Give it a rest, Crapper. It's called religious freedom. Be glad they're moving it.

No, they were the ones calling it a community center, and all the libs went nuts when someone called it a mosque.

Now THEY are the ones saying it's a mosque.

Love the reflection of the Escalade in front of the mosque. Also lol@librage for calling the cultural center what it is: a mosque.

i mean, i don't care what you call it. there's one in the pentagon. has been for decades.

real estate aside/building management aside, there's no legal reason it shouldn't be there.

Queens Crapper said...

Actually, yes there is. The developers need funding for it, and they aren't qualified for it.

Anonymous said...

sorry, let me clarify:

the developer/managers need for funding and qualification for it are a separate legal issue - one related to specific individuals behind the project.

legally, objectively, and constitutionally, there is no reason a mosque cannot be built there.

Queens Crapper said...

No one ever said there was. Americans understand the difference. They just don't want it built there.

It's damn ugly to boot.

yeah i hear ya. i won't get into an argument about whether it should or shouldn't...

looks kinda like an ant colony for muslims. ha.

Priests don't "serve" Mass. The "say" Mass.

Not to mention Iraq isn't a country that allows religious freedom, unlike the US.

I do not support the mosque/cultural center/whatever you want to call it being built there. They can. They have every right to. It's just not the right thing to do.

Hey all,

Just pleasant reminder that this spot is already a mosque and has been since last year in June or July. This means that all the jerking around politicians have done was just trying to rally the troops for the midterm elections.

It is a mosque, the new building will have a mosque, and will also be a community center.

Many people on this site keep fueling Salafi Jihadism (which, by the way, is not Islam or terrorism) by showing those who choose to follow Salafi Jihadist ideals that America is a weak nation that doesn't stick to its moral grounding.

Do a little more research before you speak about Park51 next time. Maybe far enough away would be in Staten Island.. wait, don't I remember seeing people protest that mosque as well? Go figure.

As far as I'm concerned, they can build the mosque in the middle of Ground Zero so long as they hang Bin Laden and Zawahiri, when captured, there as well.

Queens Crapper said...

I don't care what it is. The developers are notoriously shady and want public funding to erect a religious building.

Fuck them.
