Bloomberg to endorse Paul Vallone

From the Daily News:

It's no secret City Council candidate Paul Vallone has strong ties to Astoria, the neighborhood where his family built a political dynasty.

In fact, those ties were so strong that Vallone continued to vote in Astoria nearly 10 years after he bought a home about 8-1/2 miles away in Flushing.

Vallone - son of former Council Speaker Peter Vallone and brother of Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. - cast ballots in Astoria until 2004, according to city Board of Elections records.

The 42-year-old Democrat switched his registration to Flushing in 2004, and started voting in his home district in 2005.

He's now running for Council to represent parts of Flushing, Bayside and College Point, and he argues that he maintained two residences for several years.

He's also about to be endorsed by Bloomberg, when there's a Republican named Dan Halloran running in the district! Great deal Phil Ragusa cut with the Mayor, isn't it?

Is there a Bloomturd/Vallone/Apelian team forming to steal Wallet's Point? Let's just wait and see! NYC knows no party boundaries and Ragusa is as useless as a used rag! Democracy does not exist in NYC and never will again!

Isn't this rich? The shameless filth of nepotism seeking the mayor's endorsement right after he's exposed in the daily news. I guess this figures...high time the mayor pays the Vallone's back for backing him in his despicable efforts to do away with term limits. How desperate can you get? You seek the endorsement of the mayor (a Republican at heart) in a district where the current councilman (a Democrat I might add) is running against the very man who you asked daddy to have endorse you!? Cut the sh.it, Paul - and get out of our district. You ain't from around here buddy boy.

Thanks to a very controlled media, most people will never learn or understand the issues involved in this year's election, especially in a district where Tony Avella was such a strong advocate for his constituency and their concerns, especially regarding overdevelopment. When Vallone wins the council seat, there are an awful lot of people in for a rude awakening. If voters do not take the democratic process seriously, then they have no one to blame but themselves. I predict that Bell Blvd. and the surrounding neighborhood will become unrecognizable within the next 5 years thanks to Commissar Doomberg and his lackey Vallone! What a great time to be a developer in NYC.

You mean like when a community board closes a meeting to the public illegally as demonstrated in someone's YouTube video?

Hey Chuck! What do you have to say to that? Did Chuck ask his master Mike to endorse the guy he is managing? Politics certainly does make strange bedfellows.

Who cares if he's endorsed by Bloomscuz? He's so toxic to so many New Yorkers. I wouldn't want to be endorsed by that loser.

I love the newspapers (big pictures, little text cause the seniors can't see to understand, the immigrants don't care to understand, and the Tower People don't need to understand) with Bloomberg on the front cover talking about the new grafitti program with a beaming Vallone in the background.

Look, Astoria is becomeing a slum. Grafitti happens when you have plenty of absentee transient ownership. It makes a community look bad - which is why Vallone is ansty over it.

Meanwhile, an all but bankrupt city (wait till after elections folks as the lid is on that right now (thanks Thompson for keeping your mouth shut) ) is taking over grafitti removal from the speculators.

That progam should last about 6 months - until elections.

OK, Why would this happen? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see this is just another under the table pay-back agreement. Daddy Vallone, a staunch advocate to abolish term limits. Sonny boy Peter backs Bloomberg by voting "NO to term limits". This corruption is the reason why term limits are NECESSARY!!!!!

Halloran is better off w/out the Mayor's "endorsment."

If the Commissar will betray the Republican party that endorsed him sufficiently to put his name on the ballot on their line, why should he not feel free to betray anyone who is stupid enough to vote for him?

The only loyalty the Commissar has is to his extremely wealthy developer cronies.

And that loyalty is purchased daily by the wealthy developer community. The Commissar will cheerfully betray even the developers whose kickbacks are a day late or a dollar short.

If you're stupid enough or cynical enough, cast your vote for the sociopathic Commissar.

Now, for all you smart readers who want to take back control of your own and your family's life and neighborhood, vote to rid this city of the scum!

Anyone who voted for or is running for a third term is kicking you in the teeth.

Kick back! It's a joy!

Vallone, don't you dare turn my neighborhood into a wasteland. Your posters are an eyesore.

"Any campaign is a true reflection of the candidate and I will always embody the life I have lived with the path I am now taking to become your community servant. " (from his website)
I found this hilarious.

P.S. Enough with the endorsements.

At least Halloran showed better form in his statement on the Mayor's decision than Ragusa.

I may not like most Republicans but Dan is at least one of us- born and raised here- and means what he says- he's an exception to the rule.

Maybe I am wrong but it seemed like he used the health of his daughter as one of his excuses for continuing to vote in Astoria, after he had moved to Flushing.

How can anyone vote for a man who uses a daughter that way? He should keep his kids out of politics. Think of the children Paul.

I know Bart, I feel the same way.

Yes, I agree. The first thing I thought was Vallone figured if he was questioned about his residency, he'd whip out the "daughter had health issues" excuse.
This guy is stinking more and more.

Vallone's father and grandfather did some good in their day for Astoria. When I was growing up in the 60's and 70's it was a beautiful place.

Today, the vultures are out, and I am not just talking about son Vallone. Everyone wants to know how they can extract the last drop of blood from this community and then run.

All of the new construction of the last 5 years has been designed by Hellen Keller. I am ashamed of what has happened to my childhood home.

Are all the Vallone's bald? Sr. needs a new rug!
