Crowley squats in Como's office

Crappy,

I drove by Elizabeth Crowley's City Council Office today. You probably already know but she took over the office of Como/Gallagher on Metropolitan!!!! Why would anyone want to take over that office?

Not only that, but she has campaign signs in the windows! You may know better than I, but isnt that a conflict of interest to have a campaign sign in a city office? If anyone can dig into this and get it noticed, its your blog.

Keep up the good work, have a good 2009!

Concerned member of 79th Street.

Well, considering there is a "for rent" sign in the window, I can only hope that this is a temporary arrangement. But the campaign signs are a no-no.

This has to be temporary.

Crowley guaranteed that she would absolutely neither use that office, or its (Gallagher's/Como's) staff?

Crowley can clear this up with her own comment to this post.

I'm not a Crowley fan, but I'm not seeing what the big problem is here.

The problems here are twofold.

1) She promised her constituents that she would not move into Como's office.
2) You cannot use your taxpayer funded office to campaign for yourself.

She's Hot!

Campaign literature aside, what is the big deal about using the office? Why the need to promise not to use it? Who cares if she uses the same physical space?

Well, either she's taking the office and posting campaign signs on property that is paid for with taxpayer funds or she somehow has enough access to a property that is vacant (hence the "for rent" sign) that she can post campaign signs.

Either way, she needs to answer for this.

That office has a stench attached to it that stretches back to Ognibene. No one said there was a "need" for her not to use it, but she herself publicly stated multiple times that she would definitely not be using it because of the past occupants. Maybe she can choose Maspeth, Glendale, Woodhaven or Richmond Hill to site her office since Midville has gotten so much attention over the past 2 decades.

That was a stupid move.

wow ! queens crap has broken a great story. will david seifman, frank lombardi and the rest of Room 9 follow up ? who gave her the keys to the office ? isnt it a govt office ? did the Council approve this ? is there campaign lit in there ?

What is the big deal.....It is just an office.

It may be easier for her to use an office that is already set up!

Geeeesh...

Because she blasted Como for using Gallagher's office. And now she takes it over? She has had since Nov 4th to find an office. I was at a Candidate Forum and she said she would not take that office, and would find another one. Broken Promise #1.

I can't wait read the Juniper Berry article on this one. Thankfuly we have Bob Holden who is the best at exposes frauds like Liz Crowley.

Can she really be this stupid? I guess she does not have a competent staff to advise her what is right or what is wrong

Maybe she is still getting political advice from Parkside and Brian McLaughlin

Elizabeth Crowley's office is located at Dry Harbor Road and Furmanville Avenue, not here. She is moving in next week.

The 30th council district is in deep trouble. We need to vote her out in november

she had weeks to get an office up and running but she is too stupid to do so. I bet she wont do one thing she promised during her pitiful camapign. Lord help us all

Bob Holden? Ha! That hypocrite used to criticize Crowley relentlessly, but then started kowtowing to her once he attacked everyone else and had no one else to turn to.

Looks like he picked the winner. Sorry your bloated boy didn't make it, Dennis.

There's office space available for her in Middle Village on Eliot Avenue and 79 Street. From there she can see our graffiti artists and overdevelopers at work.

What happened to Kerri? Is she still in the office?

the city council does not want to be moving equipment, computers and phone lines until she has a permanent office. i am sure that the city council is having her use this office until she can find another. She could not sign any leases until she was officially sworn in, which was Jan 8. Give her a break. Anything is better than Anthony Como.
