Social club construction murder?

Ridgewood Man Held in Slaying of Gunman Outside His Home

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A resident shot and killed an armed man outside his home before using the victim's gun to wound a second man in a dispute over money, authorities said Wednesday.

Lulzim Kupi was arrested following the shooting late Tuesday in Queens, police said. The Queens district attorney's office said Kupi will be charged with murder, attempted murder and with criminal possession of a weapon.

Shortly before the shooting, Kupi received a phone call demanding a meeting at his home in the Ridgewood section, police said. At around 10:30 p.m., he was confronted outside the home by two men, both armed with pistols.

Kupi used a revolver to shoot and kill Gentian Kasa, police said. He then grabbed Kasa's semiautomatic pistol, ran after the second man and shot at him several times, police said.

The second man, whose name was not released, was hospitalized in stable condition.

Police said they believe the dispute may have been related to Kupi's construction work, which included building bars for Albanian social clubs.

About $900 in cash was found on Kasa's body, police said.

Didn't they also discover a cache of weapons in his home?

Is this the tip of the iceberg of Albanian gangs operating in NYC....perhaps ?

pssshhh, people exaggerate, journalists try to sound "cool"...but nobody knows the real story. It just makes me so mad that they stretch the truth to this extent, calling Lulzim Kupi a "reputed gangster". He's a hard-working man who tried to protect his family (oh gee I wonder what other people would think of doing).
Now I understand why Jefferson used to hate newspapers.

Why was Kupi involved at all with those 2? What was he doing with a gun? I'm sure there is a ready explanation for that.

Protect his family yes. I don't buy the hard working part. If you get mixed up with bad company, you'll pay eventually. I believe Kupi and the surviving "assailant" should be executed. Capital punishment is great in this case.

why was Kupi involved with those? He's the boss of a construction company, and one of them used to be his employee. He makes half a million dollars a year, so there's a reason why they asked him for that kind of money, don't ya think?
Don't buy the hard-working part, it's okay, because as long as it is the truth(and trust me, I know) then your opinion does not really matter. Yea yea yea, excetued? I don't think so buddy. Keep those brainwashed ideas of yours for yourself. ;)

This guy looks like he runs an Astoria nightclub catering to all those Greeks from the Island.

You know, the ones that litter, urinate, and make noise at 3 AM. Take their walls off and pump air-conditioning into the open air. Take over sidewalks. Donates nothing to local causes. Real good citizens in the community.

Pity that places the locals want and could actually serve their interests are crowded out for that crap.

Oh gee, yet another hard-working immigrant developer who gets away with figurative murder because he is sending his kids through college.

That would make him, anything short of real murder, a hero in the press.

Yes. Executed. All that were involved.

Civil society has no interest in wild gunplay in the streets.
I may sympathize with the fact that he did what he had to do for his family's safety. But Lulzim Kupi has decided to take matters into his own hands. He went beyond self defense. The fact that he waited at home with a gun, and chased down the other fleeing dirtbag is premeditated murder. As unfortunate as it may seem, it is not justifiable.

If they all want to act like uncivilized animals, maybe they would like to be tried by a angry mob, and be publicly executed.

He is a punk. His teenage son is a special ed punk. They both think they can do whatever they want. I know. I live mere feet from them. Well at least now they will have to move. He is the epitome of Queens Crap.

everyone loves to run there mouths.
and put up stuff about other people on the internet. a)it isn't any of your bussines.
b)who are you to judge someones actions.
and c) don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong. people to bad thing that doesn't make him a bad man. he had a good family and kids. and i highly doubt, that the kids deserve this critisizm towards them.
think of how your family would feel if something like this happened to them would you want them executed. i don't think so, stuff happens. move on jeez.

who are we to make remarks about Kupi? This punk shot wildly on a residential street. He easily could have killed innocent people. He associates with scum, he breaks the law and we are supposed to move on? Forget you. And I stand by the "his son is a punk remark". I had many a run in with him. I see their apartment (which is illegally converted) is up for rent now. Ha. Good riddance. We don't need you here in Ridgewood. You are indeed Queens Crap.

lulzim kupi is a hard working man. that knows how to make a honest living. just becouse hes smarter than the rest of you. and knows how to make a dollar, that doesn't mean hes a gangster or what ever. if any of you realy know queens then you would know the same kinda guys would show up at your door step the second they found out you make alot of money. and you know what? the cops wouldn't be able to do shit about it until they killed one of your family members. so how about you start taking your bullshit comments and shoving them up your asses.

Ok lets get one thing straight Lulzim Kupi was a respected man in the Albanian community along with other immigrant communities, he never once hurt a fly and yes he is a hard worker. Came to this country with nothing created a business and never once get involved with any sort of mob. For the ones who wonder why any man would carry a gun, you are in denial because everyone does it! Should he be punished for trying to be safe? I think not, esp when he had received phone calls from the two guys a couple of nights before demanding money, wouldn't you fine some protection? YES! so please do not comment unless you have the true facts, not what some stupid journalist collected from INVALID sources.

I do respect Albanian people I have a few Albanian friends and I may say they are the most wonderful people , they know how to keep their family healthy . Kupi might be a very good person but to be involve in a situation like this you might have done something extremely bad and what that may be we don’t know and we do not need to know , is the justice who cane decide about his action. In my opinion nothing bad can happen to you unless you involve yourself in things that you should not . P.S no one can come to your door and curse you for no reason this doesn’t happen to Albanians they know how to protect their self.
