Council won't investigate Gallagher

The Council’s Committee on Standards and Ethics has declined to hold any hearings FOR THE MOMENT on Councilman Dennis Gallagher, at the request of Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, who is investigating criminal rape charges against the lawmaker.

No Council Hearings On Gallagher

Ok, how about all the other allegations against Pinky? Why not investigate those?

Just days after Queens Councilman Dennis Gallagher appeared in handcuffs to face charges of rape, he didn't show up to a City Council meeting Monday where his colleagues voted unanimously to remove him from his Minority Whip post and from all six of his committee assignments.

Council members voted 37 to 0 to remove Gallagher. Gallagher said he did not attend the meeting because of a prior commitment. In total 14 members were absent.

Indicted Councilman Removed From Leadership Post

Wonder what "prior commitments" these people had and with whom. Maybe I'll try that excuse next time I don't feel like going in to work. If they don't go in, do they get paid for the day? Damn, a $112K job where you aren't even expected to show up. I like the sound of that.

Is there any way we can read the indictment? I know it was sealed until the arraignment. I have tried to google with no success.

I'm sure that both Brown and the DOI have their hands full of Pinkyisms to investigate. It's probably better the council not spend its time on this, since it would take the 50 members several years to go through all the evidence.

They have more important things to do for the city like fighting hunger in Darfur and banning dangerous sporting goods.

And don't forget welcoming Zimbabwe's Dictator Robert Mugabe to City Hall.

These guys in city council certainly look like a bunch of aldermen from the old tenderlion days of New York.

Two-bit gas house mugs, they used to call them.

Gee, would it be nice if the vaunted world renowned literary class that lives in our city can do one or two caustic pieces about those losers on city council.

The whole city council is about
to get caught with their pants (and skirts) down....
right along with Pinky!

Did you get that Speaker Quinn? !!!
