From WPIX:
A four-story building at 1438 Fulton Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant collapsed suddenly around 2:30 p.m.
A person walking by the building was injured in the collapse. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
Adjoining buildings at 1440, 1442 and 1444 Fulton Street are being evacuated as the FDNY and Department of Buildings evaluate their stability.
It’s still unclear if there are any occupants trapped in the debris.

So much for wanting to own a brownstone in Bed Stuy.
A lot of these old buildings are unsafe....rotten mortar....illegal alterations, etc.
I' m sure these were trained demolition guys and not a crew of day laborers, right.
We got too many junk buildings that need to go
Some residents said this was a crack den and whorehouse. Reportedly a few days before the collapse, they were forced out of there to do their business elsewhere, probably in another dilapidated building not far from there.
This might be a little off topic, but wasn't bed-stuy in a revitalization phase in the past 5 years with rents and property values hitting absurd and obese heights?
Last anon and others, check out the owner of the property, he was related to some slumlord who was whacked in the middle of the night not long ago. This is no doubt as slimy as the 2 ave explosion. These lowlifes will stop at nothing to raze properties and raise property "values"
You can get a prefab building in its place for under fifteen grand, but we end up paying millions to "preserve" such haz mat buildings.
