LIC overdevelopment picking up the pace

From Brownstoner Queens:

The warehouse at 37-10 11th Street (formerly the WunderBar German Grill & Bierhaus) is getting — surprise, surprise — a hotel development. The sale of the site recently hit public records for $1,700,000, selling to the Jamaica-based developer KCN Hospitality LLC. They already filed plans with the Department of Buildings for a six-story, 57-unit hotel with a total of 17,496 square feet. (It looks like the DOB recently rejected plans due to incomplete drawings.) The architect is S M Tam Architect, based in Brooklyn.

Another homeless shelter in the making - is that the true future of LIC?

Will LIC ultimately house all the illegals with benefit cards provided by Skippy deBlaz?

Sort of explains the pols obsession with transportation on 21st Street and Vernon while they remain passively obvious to the real transit problems where the bulk of the people actually live.

Look...it's a one story taxpayer. In real estate parlance that means development to the max that zoning permits.

Will definitely be a homeless shelter -- another building on Queens Blvd and 62nd Street in Woodside has signs of becoming one also. DiBlasio is dumping all the crap on Queens

Keep an eye on The Queens Savoy Hotel and Residences, on the corner of 82nd Avenue and Queens Boulevard in Kew Gardens.

20 floors and only 47 valet parking spaces.

Wouldn't shock me if that became a homeless shelter.
