Thousands more cops defy Bratton order to be nice

From CBS New York:

Thousands of NYPD officers turned their backs Sunday as they watched Mayor Bill de Blasio eulogize an officer shot dead with his partner, repeating a stinging display of scorn for the mayor despite entreaties from the police commissioner not to do so.

The show of disrespect came outside the Brooklyn funeral home where Officer Wenjian Liu was remembered as an incarnation of the American dream: a man who had immigrated at age 12 and devoted himself to helping others in his adopted country. The gesture, among officers watching the mayor’s speech on a screen, added to tensions between the mayor and rank-and-file police even as he sought to quiet them.

Really, the only speaker worth listening to is Officer Liu's wife.

The way I see it the NYPD has turned its back not only to DiBlazio but also to liberal progressive idiolagy that is putting the safety of all New Yorkers in grave danger, this is only the beginning of Americans turning their backs on corrupt liberal government from the mayors office to the Oval Office.
Forget "tale of 2 cities" its now about "MICE or MEN"
I SALUTE AND STAND WITH THE NYPD.

Enough already, fellas. You can protest outside of your uniforms. Any other city employee would have been disciplined for such a brazen display. Show some discipline. Tired of the mayor? Vote for someone else when the next election happens. That's how this country works.

Few respect this mayor so why should his cops?

I wonder how much influence Di Blasio's former lesbian wife has over him? Maybe he wears the skirt and she wears the pants.

Nice to see Joe Crowley at Liu's funeral. Where were you last week MIA at Ramos" funeral? Didn't see your picture in the papers this week?

Viverito? Speaker of the NYC Council. Anyone see hide or hair of her at either funerals?

Newt Gingrich hits the nail on the head on Face the Nation this AM: said...

"Gingrich said that the two former New York City mayors, Rudy Giuliani and Mike Bloomberg, have done "the most" to save African American lives in the city.

"Their policing techniques, led by Chief Bratton, who invented them, actually saved thousands of lives by focusing on crime in a very intelligent way. And candidly, if Chicago were being as aggressive about it as New York, you'd be saving hundreds of African-American lives a year in Chicago," Gingrich said. The Chicago mayor is Rahm Emanuel, a former chief of staff to Mr. Obama.

Gingrich said there are steps that can be taken to mitigate the problems, including criminal justice reforms that reduce the number of people in prison, especially young men. He also said there should be "serious hearings at the federal level."

Moreover, he said, "there has to be some recognition -- and this will probably get me in trouble -- young people should be told, when a policeman tells you to stop, stop."

Maybe if the know-it-all mayor could at least muster an "I'm sorry" for throwing his personal life into fanning the fear mongering fires of the cop haters, tensions could resolve.

Albert Shanker was right to stand strong in 1968 against guff from city bigwigs, and Lynch should keep on the heat until dope-Blasio either grows a pair and starts taking responsibility or steps down.

Lynch should keep on the heat

I thought Lynch was too busy keeping Liz Crowley hot...

DeBlasio had an opportunity to extend an olive branch to the NYPD by NOT reappointing liberal Judge Laura Johnson. Instead, he gave the NYPD the finger by reappointing her. It just shows how arrogant he is and how much he hates cops. Police Officers have rights too, and are allowed to protest peacefully and quietly by turning their backs to the mayor.

Thanks Crapper for selecting truthful articles. You should see how Yahoo News is twisting the reality by publishing articles according to which NYPD would agree with De Balsio... Such propaganda I have seen only in the former communist countries... But I guess all those with a minimum sense of realism know that Yahoo is the facade of the communists aka "progressive democrats"..

I noticed yesterday that there were articles published which indicated that the NYPD saluted deBlasio at the wake, when in fact it was only the two officers guarding the door, and they were most likely saluting Bratton.

Mayor God Blasio is not being worshiped and some on here are getting all pissy 😤 about it,lol.😁

Bringing your political agenda to the funeral of your comrades is a disgrace. I don't care which side of the issue you are on.

You ignorant republicans can't even grasp Bill DiBlasios greatness or how lucky New York is to have him.

If I was a cop I'd refuse to take Dante to school and let black culture run its course, let him learn first hand who to worry about,a street cop or gang banger.

Diblasio does what hi wife says. They wanted an end to pro active policing and now they are getting it . Good luck, nyc.

Not Republican, more along the lines of a Democrat with sense, and deBlasio is not ready for prime time,

The NYPD officers who turned their backs did nothing to help anyone. They only made it worse for everybody.

Memorial services are supposed to be for the families of those who lost their lives - not some political agenda.

Not the NYPD's finest hour. To those who turned your backs, your behavior was tacky and childish. Now, instead of thinking about the families, everyone's thinking about you. How selfish. Grow up already.

I am a Liberal and very supportive of the NYPD - AND I know many other Liberals who also believed Garner and Brown were responsible for their own fate. The facts are the facts - I am not controlled by political ideology - and the right shouldn't be either.

Well said. I'm right of center and usually pro-cop, but to behave like this at a fellow officer's funeral is selfish. It makes the funeral about yourself and not the fallen officer. there's a time and place for political statements - a funeral is not one of them.

If your position is that the officer's death was caused in part by the rhetoric spewed by deBlasio and Sharpton, then this is not selfish and has everything to do with the fallen officer.

This gesture of the back-turning at funerals is taking on Shakespearean overtones.

Diblasio sucks and so does the NYPD so I can care less of what either one do.

"Diblasio sucks and so does the NYPD so I can care less of what either one do."

Yet I doubt you voted at all in the last election. The odds are with me in this assumption. Then while you're not voting, you can not call 911 when you get rubbed by one of NYC's wonderful denizens.

"You can protest outside of your uniforms."

Buh? What message would that send? None.

"If your position is that the officer's death was caused in part by the rhetoric spewed by deBlasio and Sharpton, then this is not selfish and has everything to do with the fallen officer."

Nailed it.

We, as a people, need to get rid of Sharpton and his disciples first. No one should speak of Sharpton without mentioning Tawana Brawley.

You disrespect your boss, you get fired, that's how it works in real life but since cops are no different than MTA, LIRR and any other city employee protected by the outdated and over rated unions that as the affirmative action laws are taking this country to the shit, they won't get reprimanded nor fired, nothing.

My boss is not in the position of characterizing me as a member of a class of racist murderers.

Ismaaiyl Abdullah-Muhammad Brinsley heard De Blasio's message and acted on it.

De Blasio has blood on his hands.

Anonymous said...

Duh Blazio, his unelected to anything wife, and Al Sharpton can eat shit and drop dead.

Anonymous said...

Al Sharpton should trademark the name Al Sharpton so in order to use his name a royalty must be paid or send a check to NAN know and avoid a protest of the Queens Craper because were sure QC has a lack of black posters
"No Payoff No Peace"

Boy, if police officers really think they "heard" the Mayor say that, they'd better not testify in any upcoming court cases because their ability to accurately remember what they saw/heard will immediately be called into question.

Newsflash, DiBlasio isn't the boss of any of those agencies. NYPD answers to Bratton, and no one else.

But, if you want to play the "DiBlasio is boss" card, no boss should tell his family not to trust his employees, especially publicly.

Both officer's death without question caused by deBlasio and Sharpton's rhetoric.

More deaths will follow unless these two assholes are skewered & BBQ'd till they wake-up. (likely never) These "sub urban troublemaker's" screaming kill cops, are now flooding into New York from all over the country because they know THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS SHIT in NYC.
deBlasio, Veverito and Sharpton are asshole magnets !!

The upcoming summer is gonna be real interesting when it's hot and these "kill cop" animals are fired up on booze and ballsy.

Do Blasios rhetoric was a contract hit on these 2 officers,
Who will rid me of these insolent police.

DiBlasio turned his back FIRST so fk him.

I do not believe though that he has "blood on his hands" as that was just inflationary rhetoric by Lynch - equal to what we are used to from Sharpton. The anti-cop mobs whose paranoia-spewing we are forced to watch on the news everyday all day are responsible for the assassinations.

The cops now should turn their backs on the crime-ridden areas like Ferguson - let them kill and rob each other - as long as they don't come into my nab - fk 'em.
