Gim vs. Kim

From the Times Ledger:

Flushing Republican Phil Gim has announced he will take a second crack at state Assemblyman Ron Kim’s (D-Flushing) seat.

The small business owner, who ran against Kim in the 2012 general election, made his announcement on Memorial Day weekend.

“I’m stepping forward to run for the Assembly to fight to make New York a better place,” Gim said. “Together we can build a better New York, one community at a time.”

Gim said tackling Queens’ rising cost of living and other economic problems will be priorities for him.

Ron Kim is the most useless elected official out there. When his white constituents who live in Whitestone go to his office to complain about problems affecting the community, he does nothing. He only cares about the Asians in his district. Whites don't matter to Ron Kim.

How about quality of life issues?

How about a conversation about how Asians have destroyed Flushing!!!!!!

Even if your mind is quite dim,
You don’t have to go out on a limb,
To know that Queens voters never vote on a whim,
The Tweeders will select the Democrat named Kim……

How about a conversation about express bus service in the district. I know several residents in Mitchell Gardens, a key voting block in the 40th district, who don't like how Ron Kim has acted towards those who have put in complaints about express bus service.

What is ron and Phil's real name?

Assemblymembers are useless, a waste of taxpayers $$. None of them would dare go against the leadership, they just vote as they are told by Silver. And for the past few years, they don't even have any $ members items to dole out.

Anon No. 5: Whatever they say it is. Not the first time an elected official has changed his name. Ask Bill Wilhelm.

Ron Kim's real name is Kim Tae Sok

Unfortunately if you demand that Ron Kim's staff actually do their job, you get called out for hurting the feelings of his staff.

Well I guess let's give Phil Gim a sot because Ron Kim is useless.

Anon #10:

If you have met and know Ron Kim and his staff and decided to give Gim a shot, their feelings will get hurt.

They aren't results oriented staff, but if you call them out on it, then they'll be very hurt.

Any different with white politicians not caring about Asians? Look at what they're trying to do with the Specialized High Schools - too many Asians, so let's change the admissions criteria.

This is not entirely the white people's fault. Former Republican Mayor Bloomberg veto the change and wanted to keep things the way it is, which is beneficial for the Asian students who have earned the rights to be there.

The request to change the Specialized High School Admission process came from the NAACP accusation of discrimination towards blacks. This request for change was then supported by current Mayor Blasio. He of course has a black wife.

Obviously, these minorities don't see Asians as the same. Instead of rooting for us, they turned against us.

Not to mentioned Ron Kim had the nerve to assist with the bill that could alter admission, which of course would mean less Asian students getting in. The fact of the matter is, Asian students averages higher admission scores due to incredible hard work and dedication. To have their rightful seats at these specialized schools taken away is nothing short of discrimination.
John Liu was another policymaker that supported the change in admission process. It's painstaking to say that these people have forgotten who they are.

Only Grace Meng, who of Stuyvesant pedigree, had the courage to say leave the process alone.
