Cops watching scammers in Jamaica

MYFOXNY.COM - A Fox 5 Shame, Shame, Shame investigative report in early June brought the heat down on the operators of a brazenly illegal parking space scheme: Metered spots near a Queens courthouse that should cost a few quarters per hour were being sold for as much as $20.

The scam involved workers at a private parking lot across from the Queens County Supreme Court on Sutphin Boulevard, where parking costs up to $27 a day.

Who are the rubes that are falling for paying $20 for a metered parking space? Effing idiots. Probably the same ones that fell for huge mortgages that they couldn't really afford and are now in foreclosure.

I wonder how much these guys came off with? 20$ spot for X amount of time at X amount of people.

I'd say something like $50,000 - $100,000.

They don't need cones. They simply park cars at meters to free up spaces in the lot which cost $15.00 for the first hour anyway. When you show up to claim your car they run out to a metered spot or even a completely free spot and bring your car out to the front of the lot. I came to claim my car once and the gut took 10 minutes to bring my car around to the front and rest assured he did not pull it out of the lot, he pulled it off the street someplace and brought it to me. Shame on you they are still using up all the parking spots and tripling the size of their lot without anyone the wiser.
