Queens Teen Accused of Setting Fire at Kissena Park Golf Course

NEW YORK (AP/ 1010 WINS) -- A teenager from Queens is accused of setting a fire that destroyed 38 golf carts and caused more than $400,000 in damages.

Prosecutors say 17-year-old Christopher Casella is expected to be arraigned Monday on arson charges. He faces up to 15 years in prison, if convicted.

Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown says that Casella and two other people set the fire in a fenced-in area at Kissena Park Golf Course in Flushing, N.Y., shortly before midnight on June 24, 2009.

Act in haste, repent at leisure.

This is what comes of the generation where parental authority has been completely undermined.

Yell at your kid or use mild corporal punishment and their will be no end of busybodies coming out of the cracks to try to put you in jail.

But when the kid goes too far, look out hammer of doom time. How much worse is it to have a kid in jail?

Such a shame. I guess the 1970s are coming back. Of course, as a NYC minor he'll do no time and be required to pay back next to nothing. I was going to say unbelievable, but it is very believable.

Christopher deserves what he gets. He should go to jail. He is a trouble maker in the neighborhood for years. It's about time they caught him for something.
