Carvel looking to make a Maspeth comeback

A few years ago, this Carvel in Maspeth was at the center of a BSA controversy. The owner claimed he needed to build up in order to be able to afford to expand the Carvel, which had outgrown its location. The BSA ultimately rejected his application, and he built to the regulated height. He closed the Carvel and the adjacent pizzeria and restaurant that he owned and replaced them with a bank, furniture store (since closed) and of course, Queens Crap built above it. (See previous post entitled Carvel Crap
.

However, as per their website, the Carvel company believes Maspeth is still a "hot area" and they are seeking a franchisee.
It takes a lot of dough to make ice cream, though.

Sure, let's have him build another Carvel and then sell, again, to the highest bidder and have more Crap built in it's place. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me!

Nah, he'd probably open it in a storefront and there are enough empty ones around.
