If the moon had trees, it might look something like this bike trail in Cunningham Park. CityNoise has a photo set.

I understand that most people on this blog do not like bicycle riders and they sure as hell do not ride bicycles themselves so it is understandable that you could not identify the photo but... This is what a "mountain bike trail" (meant for jumps and and rough riding) is supposed to look like when it is man made.
Better than when it looks like this because of illegal riding on the walking trails. Biking isn't my thing, but if the bikers are in an area where they belong and are not hurting anyone why knock them?
Since this is man made the parks department probably took steps to protect the trees. It is difficult to see how far away the trees are, perhaps they are not as close as they look.
Italicized passages and many of the photos come from other websites. The links to these websites are provided within the posts.
Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. They are not connected to this website and the opinions presented here do not necessarily represent the positions of these organizations.

The title says it's a bike trail and so does the caption. What more do you want?

Speak for yourself. I ride every weekend in FMCP park with my kids.

Who knocked them?
i think its a beautiful picture, nice to see there are bike trails left in queens. don't see any insults here.
This is shocking - they should shut this down. The damage this is doing to the roots and ecosystem is inexcusable.
Once again, the myth of bike riders as green types is just that - a myth.
Remember this the next time a Mexican food delivery boy runs you down.
