Seat Padavan now!

Dear Editor:

After two months of voter recounts by the NY State Board of Elections and due diligence review by our courts, the long time incumbent, Republican Frank Padavan was declared the winner of the 11th Senate District.

Now it has come to our attention that the Democratic majority in the NY State Senate is trying to block the seating of our duly elected Senator. Needless to say, I am appalled that they would stoop so low as to deny the seating of a senior Senator who been declared the winner and who has served his state and community with honor and distinction for 35 years. I am also shocked that politicians from both sides of the aisle have not rallied to support Senator Padavan's as he has often supported their initiatives.

Sincerely,

Dick Lopez

This letter is incorrect. No one has been declared the winner in this race yet.

The corrupt senate will seat Tripper Monserrate first.

I am a Democrat and I wanted the other guy but what's fair is fair and what's right is right.
Padavan rightfully deserves an end to this mess and to be seated now.

I'm a Democrat and I voted for Padavan, but the last thing I want is a repeat of the Florida catastrophe of 2000. Count every vote - every legit vote! When it's all said and done, I hope Padavan is declared the rightful winner. He's a fine public servant and he deserves to win.

All the legit votes were already counted. The non-legit ones were thrown out by a bipartisan panel of BOE commissioners. What's in dispute is not enough to push Gennaro over the top.

Game over.

This is all about the Senate majority. They will seat Monster-rat, delay seating Padavan and hope they have enough votes for Malcolm to be Senate Majority Leader.

It's also all about Gennaro not having to do any work for his constituents while he continues this outrageous contest. Gennaro campaigns and campaigns. Constituent affairs he knows nothing about.

With the Senate seat now empty, we have no one representing us in the Council or in the State Senate. Put Senator Padavan in his Senate seat. Jim Gennaro needs to finish out his term in the Council. Perhaps he can learn how to address the problems of his constituents.

Padavan Old and useless, although if he's the one with the most votes then he has to go in. Ex: Minn. election AL FRANKEN

When Baldeo "lost" by the same number of votes to Maltese in 2006, we did not see such levels of aggression by the Democratic party.
