Bayside Building Boom

"When you hear the word "Bayside," is this what you think of? This is at 212-14 & 212-16, 42nd Avenue. There were two 1-family homes here previously. Now there are four 3-family homes. We are building ourselves into oblivion!" - jen

The problem is that Baysiders were too late in waking up to the looming spectre of overdevelopment that had already hit neighborhoods further to the west, which was headed their way.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

I'm afraid you're about to be Flushing-ized.
Get used to it!

Like Ostriches with their heads buried in the sand, they were into denial for so long they became willing accomplices to these rapacious developers crimes.

They should have fought alongside their neighboring communites earlier instead of saying, "This is Baysde. It won't happen here"!

Isolationism is what gets you in the neck every time!

Oh this is great. At least western Queens will not get stuck with all the development in the borough.
