Interesting signs pop up at Maspeth shelter protest

Will any elected official ever show up? Maybe someone from outside the district?

They should be protesting at City Hall.

Agreed. Although this is actually quite sufficient to keep it homegrown and make people familiar with the town.

I don't know if the fine citizens of Maspeth tried to get a permit to city hall but before Bratton resigned, he said that he wouldn't approve permits if the "demands" of the protesters were "legitimate" with "goals that couldn't be met". Who knows who else in City Hall and the upper echelons at the NYPD, especially the ones who replaced those hacks who took gifts, travel expenses and whores, and illegal contributions from investors and developers, have these same disturbing and mildly fascist thoughts.

Maspeth pride, Queens solidarity. Keep up the fight.

Honk honk

Indeed, Where is Markey? She was pretty visible in her campaign to get sexual abuse laws passed and the statute of limitations on molestations lifted and subsequently failed. The daily news did daily features on it. Looks like with the time she had for that mission, she may have already decided on that hotel conversion a while ago.

she and crowley knew from the start it was going to be a homeless shelter that is how it works but they are tooo sneaky to let the constitutents know about anything -- the deal was done awhile ago that is why nobody is showing up - they are guilty

1.You need to go to the politicians homes and picket them there (yes even Virginia Joe) with signs they they support building slums.

2. The pols are hiding - which shows you have the upper hand. Now they expect to wait you out so they can take the field again with their lap dog press ready to do positive spin.

3. Therefor, you must organize this energy into something permanent - an umbrella civic that is free of the machine domination with a charter forbidding membership to anyone that is a pol or works for a pol or has any relationship to a pol.

Why? Last time I checked we are a Republic not a Kingdom.
Elected officials need to get on their ponies and come to Maspeth where the problem is not the other way around.

These are public servants not kings.

Interesting piece of news I just found out today Margaret Markey does not live in queens anymore she lives on long island -- so take it to the bank that she does not care -

Margaret figured out Queens is becoming too congested.
Long Island is a much better choice.
By moving out she basically acknowledges that she is a total failure as a politician.

if your PAID pol.dem.reps. are evading the local invasion, maybe it is time to secede from the fed .state, nyc gov.?

FIGHT THEM ON A FIELD OF YOUR CHOOSING NOT THEIRS - DO NOT GIVE THEM A TIME TO MARSHAL THEIR STOOGES.

Go after the local pols and the local press.

That is the only way we will win.

and so is Joseph Crowley for that matter he lives in Virginia and uses his mother's address --

"Go after the local pols and the local press." Local politicians are members of the team we are fighting against and local rags are insignificant. Better to start a kitty and hire a good lawyer to harass the shit out of them. Also remember on election days to come.

Get it yet?
As far as NYC politicians are concerned , Masoeth is a forgotten place.
They think they can have their way with it.
Prove 'em wrong! Take your protests to your local electeds doorsteps...at their homes, if necessary!
All else is farting into a brisk oncoming wind!
