Malcolm Smith, Vince Tabone convicted

From NBC:

Former Democratic state Sen. Malcolm Smith has been found guilty of scheming to bribe Republican party leaders so he could run on the GOP line in a New York City mayoral race, making him the latest ex-Albany leader to be convicted of corruption.

Smith is the latest line in Albany's corrupt legacy. Sheldon Silver, speaker of the State Assembly for more than two decades, was arrested late last month on federal corruption charges.

Vince Tabone was also convicted on all charges.

Cue the 'get out of jail' hysterics: phony medical illness', family hardship, etc.

Good. When's Halloran up?

Looking forward to the Law & Order episode 'inspired' by this goofball.

I hope Denzel plays him. If not, Tracy Morgan.

Does US Attorney Bharara have enough staff to investigate all the Albany legislators?

"Good. When's Halloran up?"

His sentencing was again postponed. Supposed to in be January now it's put off until March 6th.

Hollerin hobo
Must be rolling on everyone of his "friends" he's out and about talking about a new career "helping people" as a scuba instructor.

Taking bets on who goes down with him.

Let's see, prediction 1) Peter Vallone goes down with papa Vallone. Closed door meetings and favorable introductions and such. Papa Vallone gets off because of age and medical conditions. 2) Paul Vallone gets caught up in the sting and his now puppy (former hollerins) starts talking to keep himself out of the net.
3) more will be arrested soon.

45 years? He will end up getting 3-5 , that's how it works.

Rinse, repeat. We need term limits. We need it to be possible to do business in New York state without being tangled up with the Sheldon Silvers and Malcolm Smiths to navigate through the process.

Floyd Flake better be layering up!!

Didn't Cuomo just put Flake on the Power and Energy Commission? Didn't Flake and his wife face charges if stealing millions from the taxpayer pot that was earmarked for his so-called "religious" enterprise? Hello Andy, are you paying attention to all of this?

Chief Taminent knew Hitler, Napoleon and Charlemagne fostered situation ethics!

Best of all, with Sheldon Silver facing trial and Dan Halloran facing prison- Malcolm Smith, Ruben Wills and William Scarborough wouldn't be able to play the race card.

Preet Bharara targets all corrupt pols, regardless of race.

Let's save time and money. Indict the entire Assembly, Senate and the Governor. Then exempt the handful that are not criminals.
