Residents worried about building collapse in Rego Park

From the Daily News:

A Rego Park building damaged in February following sloppy excavation work at a property next door has grown to the point of near collapse, city officials warn.

Cracks that appeared along the north wall of the six-story apartment building at 94-01 64th Rd. have continued to grow even as the city hit the contractor with fines for failing to safeguard the area and protect nearby properties.

Booth Holdings LLC plans to build luxury housing on the neighboring property. A principal couldn’t be reached for comment.

The Buildings Department issued a stop work order for the site in February and ordered contractors to install exterior support structures. In total, seven violations remain open against the construction companies.

t.s. for the residents of rego, just pack your things and get a uhaul.
the hipster pandemic is coming and they have to build, build, build by any means necessary.

maybe the blaz can have his planning committee arrange contracts to build another borough on top of queens to make room for the rest of us.maybe drill into the earth, although we might piss off the c.h.u.m.s

I still don't get why hipster is a negative? What is wrong with creative, educated, Americans moving into an area?

Rego Park could certainly use a face-lift. It's a shithole. It's the developers, the politicians and the Third World trash that have destroyed NYC, not creative, educated, Americans.

There's still a lot of Archie Bunker left in Queens.

Simple. You seem to think that hipsters are "creative" instead of stuck in arrested development. Mooching off their parents until they're 30, not producing anything of value; all they do is drive up housing prices for working people.

As you can see, luxury developers prefer to build quickly while the market is still hot. I feel sorry for the residents whose windows will soon be blocked out by the new tower.

Good to see Koslowitz on the site, let's see if her office can prod the Buildings Department to doing right by the residents.

As an amateur seer I see a bankruptcy in Booth Holding LLC's future.

"Hipsters over Buhar garbage anyday!!"

Truth.

Haven't seen much of the hipster element out here in forest hills. What I see moving to my building out here is Asians, Middle Easterners and more Russians.

Another project by Scarano. How come he did put his name as the architect of record? Did he lose his license?

They should evacuate the building before something happens.
