Fireworks returning to East River
From CBS New York:
The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks show will return to the East River this year.
The annual display will be set off from the Brooklyn Bridge and barges on the East River, Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Monday.
As public advocate, de Blasio would join other Brooklyn leaders each year asking Macy’s and then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg to bring the fireworks back to the East River.
Now that he’s in charge, it’s happening.

I'm very glad to see this happening. At least it's something. Thank you!
The new towers block the fireworks which at one time were visible from almost all of western Queens.
To get to the Gantry docks, you need a pass - that is only given out in the lobbys of the new buildings.
I am sure that Jimmy Van Bramer will get a view as well as his flunkies.
Our community, which has footed the tax bill that we thought was being used to improve our community, is subsidizing Jimmy and the colonists he is bringing in to displace us.
That the fireworks are being blocked on July 4 so the 'right people' view them while the rest of us can look at glimpses around their hipster ass backs is so symbolic.
They use 4 groups of barges on the East river so any high roof in Queens should be good for one of them.
Cypress ave up by Highland park is really good, also the bridge on Metropolitan ave.
I enjoyed the partys on the Cement company grounds across the street from the crabhouse. Was $5 sausage & peppers and beer trucks but now that's all f_cked up private yuppie shit tower people. Yeah forget entry to Gantry park if you dont own a 1/2 million dollar condo.
Fireworks are on my "Meh List". You've seen one display, you've seen them all.
