Stumped in Brooklyn

I saw this last week when I was waiting for a bus in Brooklyn. The front of the truck says "disaster relief" and the Caterpillar on the back hails from Louisiana Machinery.  I guess what struck me the most about this scene is that there apparently are tree stumps being removed somewhere in the city, but I don't know where.  Certainly not from city streets.

They took a big one out of Bowne Park last week and the park has been cleaned up recently.

Too bad it'll look like shit in a couple of months once the galoops get hold of the new bocce courts.
More smoking, drinking, gambling, dog crap, litter, card playing, rejected lawn furniture, pizza boxes, etc. I wish someone would inform tie ignoramuses that most of this stuff is illegal in NYC parks

Kind of interesting that Staten Island gets its street trees replaced right away.

City has no money to remove tree stumps yet MillionTrees Initiative is going around planting new trees. I don't get it. Why plant new trees without first attending to the hundreds of unsightly stumps? Many of these new trees die anyway because of lack of water and care.
