Why did Helen Marshall prevent Tony Avella's rep from testifying against the USTA?

From SaveFMCP:

On April 4th, 2013, Borough President Helen Marshall held a land use meeting as part of the ULURP for the USTA expansion. State Senator Tony Avella was the only elected official to send a representative to testify. However, Tony Avella's representative was denied the opportunity to speak. The Senator's written testimony against the USTA expansion as well as his letter to the Borough President protesting the treatment of his staff members is presented below.

Of course it was because you oppose the application! Shame on Helen and go Tony!

Maybe Tony's representative should have been more emphatic...and stepped up to the podium regardless of him not being allowed to speak. I would have done that and risk being escorted from the room.

THAT WOULD HAVE MADE THE HEADLINES!

Was the media present? They would have noted Senator Avella's rep thus defying the crooked borough president Marshall!

EVERYBODY HAS GOT TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE, IN SPITE OF ATTEMPTS MADE TO SILENCE THEM!

Now, go for her throat!

Why?

Because borough hall is a nest of hissing vipers, that are there ONLY to strike at constituents.

They are ALWAYS eager to gently kiss the sphincter of any real estate developer!

Abolish the office of borough president OR be sure to elect an HONEST one like Tony Avella!

Do you think that dimwit Marshall is trampling on the rights of us residents?

Wait until that developer's lobbyist. Peter Vallone Jr. gets in.

You'll be VERY SORRY and it will be TOO LATE to change things after the fact.

can't wait to hear what she has to say about this....

Burro President Marshall said...

"Yawn, I don't care what anyone says about me.

I'm retiring on the funds I have stashed away in my Cayman Island account.

I'd like to thank the USTA for contributing to it".

Was that Seth, who was denied delivering Senator Avella's testimony?

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Shame has been taken to new heights.

Claire Shulman once tried to exclude the outspoken community activist Joyce Shepperd from participating in the Fort Totten hearings at borough hall.

Joyce defied her and stomped all over those cheap hoodlums!
As a result, Fort Totten was saved as public parkland.
That's the kind of Moxie that's needed to quell the rampant corruption of borough hall.

There's a great old photo of Joyce, with NYPD officers attempting to restrain her from entering the conference room.

All of us voters need to show some backbone, or be stepped on repetitively.
