Crappy, I wish you would stop posting B.S. stories from The Post. First of all, four men are not getting drunk from two six packs of light beer over the course of a night. Second, the story sounds highly suspect. Four supervisors were all in the same car and walked 5 blocks together to go to the store? I call Bullshit. Four people are not all walking 5 blocks in the snow. One man, maybe two, but no comprehensible reason for all four to go. Third, even if the story WAS true, what were supervisors in a car supposed to do to clear snow or dig out a stuck bus? If their car was capable of driving in the snow they would have DROVE to the store, not walked five blocks. The Post is usually full of shit, and you undermine your journalistic integrity by linking to their stories like it is some type of news.
Krappy is correct. The videos clearly demonstrate that DOS workers were eating donuts for 11 hours. They also provide absolute proof that they were each getting sloshed off of 3 cans of 4.5% beer while on duty.
Amateur Look-At-Me-I've-Got-A-Camera-And-Opinions journalism wins the day once again!
Wow looks like these videos really touched a nerve. It's funny how the DOS employees posting here have a lengthy explanation for why the beer story can't possibly be true but haven't come up with one reason why three snow plows would be sitting outside a Dunkin Donuts together with the workers seen inside the store after 11 hours. They all just happened to become disabled in the same spot.
Why would anyone want to sit in a freezing truck doing absolutely nothing for 11 HOURS!? THAT alone doesn't make sense.
I don't know about that, Blabs!
I'm pretty sure I've seen you standing on a street corner off of Roosevelt Avenue, you were there for about 17 hours, swinging a necklace, and you kept saying: "Hey there, big boy!"
I made the first anon post. For the record, I am not a sanitation worker or city employee, nor am I related to any. My opinion of the beer run story is based on common sense. Four men are not ALL walking five blocks to the store, even on a nice day.
My opinion? First of all, the guy making the second video sounds like a douchebag. Yes sanit guys have it good, but to say we pay them (all city workers according to the douchebag) to do nothing is an asshole statement. I think it was likely part of a slowdown. The streets were probably difficult (not necessarily impossible) to navigate because of abandoned/stuck cars (which the douchebag does point out). My guess, and it is just a guess, is that the sanition workers called in that they couldn't get down the streets due to abandoned cars. I'm curious to know what the official protocol is for such a situation. My guess is they are told to wait for a tow truck to come and remove the impeding vehicle. I doubt three trucks sat there all day without somehow covering their asses with a somewhat plausible excuse.
I have never seen such a poor response to a snowstorm in my life. I think it is partly the fault of management (there definitely seemed to be less trucks out than usual, even in Manhattan) and part worker slowdown. We all know the sanitation workers usually do a much better job than this. I think they wanted to stick it to the mayor, and it worked, and for that I am glad.

If a hard working resident, frustrated at seeing you collect your city welfare check. Living better then most of the people you work for gets his hands on you and works you over and makes your face look like a douche bag that its then you will have the right to call others names.
You and your fellow trash scum should be shoved like the trash you are into your trucks.
Hey dummy, learn how to write coherent sentences, and try learning how to read while you're at it. As I previously stated, I'm not a garbage man or city employee. To state that city employees get paid to do nothing is untrue, and a dickhead thing to say. That is my opinion and I'm entitled to express it.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap

And the videos?
The videos are no excuse for your posting of a lame post story.
I'll take that as a "no comment" on the videos.
Hey! Here's an idea. Let's start a store called Drunkin' Donuts. Problem solved!
Peace in 2011! Bloomturd wants a piece of everything.
Queens Crapper must have failed the last sanitation exam, LOL.

Go back and hide under the rock that you erupted from!

OK - let's say not drunk - let's just call it 'drinking on the job'
Most companies, that's a firing offence
"I call Bullshit."
I'm with you on this. Why would anyone want to sit in a freezing truck doing absolutely nothing for 11 HOURS!? THAT alone doesn't make sense.
Were the routes clear or were cars blocking their path?
If indeed it was a case of the "blue flu" remains to be seen - I withhold judgment until I hear more.
Well Babs, they weren't in the trucks, as the videos show. Did you bother to watch them?
I'm still waiting for my overdue trash pick up.
I swear that if I should get a summons for my garbage remaining at the curb, I'll be glad to drop it off in front of Bloomberg's home.
Let him fine me for illegal dumping, whatever the rate, because I'll have the news media following me to cover the event.
OOPS!
It looks like some DOS (Department of Shit) union trolls are trying to cover their tracks by posting.
Hey, garbage men, where's my trash pick up? It's been a week!
Maybe if I lace my trash with donuts & booze they'll sniff it out and come like the well paid rats they are and finally get my garbage!

I agree with you 100%.

It's called getting paid for doing nothing. And after they are all well rested, they'll continue for a few more hours and collect overtime pay.
Keep in mind your paying for this.
